I was reading about the supposed increased fertility following a miscarriage. Has this applied to any of you or anyone you know? Is it just a myth?

I do know that after my first miscarriage in 2007, after a month's break, I got pregnant with my oldest son the first month trying. I was hoping that this happens again this time. I miscarried last month and am currently waiting for my first AF. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy and sticky BFP!

Good luck ladies.

I don't think it's a definitive thing that can be written in stone. I'd like to think that we are after a miscarriage or even after a birth of a child full term due to the raging hormones. However if you look at it scientifically, your insides have yet to recuperate, build an endo lining up again and go through the process off ovulating.

I have a friend who fell pregnant with twins within a month of miscarrying her child, I hoped the same would happen for me but it didn't. I fell pregnant 7 months later. Granted it was only my second cycle after my miscarriage. So it may be the case, or it might now.

Just keep in mind, any month that you ovulate you have just as good a chance as any other month. Xx

I think it varies from person to person. I am 5 weeks post onset of bleeding of miscarriage, 7 weeks post confirmation of loss of heartbeat......and I just got a BFP last night without having a period in between. We had "accidental" good timing.....first time we had sex after the miscarriage was a Wednesday, the very next day I had distinct ovulation pain (2 weeks post miscarriage bleeding) and had sex one day after that.....and here I am =)

But I also know other ladies who have no fertility issues and they have a hard time getting pregnant directly afterward so I dunno.

I also wonder if it matters whether or not you have a natural miscarriage or a D&C. I had a natural one, heartbeat stopped at approximately 8w2d and it took a few weeks for the miscarriage to commence.

I had a miscarriage in November, had one cycle and fell pregnant, that turned out to be a chemical, I then fell pregnant that next cycle and miscarried again :(

I also got pregnant the first cycle after a MC but it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy.
I read somewhere that the increased fertility is due to the higher progesterone levels. Not sure if this is accurate though.

At first it was a big deal to be to get my BFP straight away again and it put a hell of a lot of pressure on me, my last cycle was by far the most stressful, longest cycle ever. I was miserable throughout the whole things worrying about not getting that BFP. This cycle I'm just going to try and relax! Yes it would be lovely if it happened but there's always next month if not.
Try not to get yourself too stressed about it.

Sorry for your loss.
Fingers crossed for your next cycle! Xx
