Hi,

I am currently on 100mg of Clomid. My doctor has told me that because of cost the NHS will only allow Clomid to be prescribed for 3 months.
What would be my next step if Clomid doesn't work for me? I am 36 years old and I already have a 16 year old son.

Is there anything else offered on the NHS or would I have to start paying for any further treatment?
Thanks xx

P.s. - this is my second month of Clomid, first month I was on 50mg but didn't ovulate.

Not sure why he said 3months only of clomid.. I have read its normally 6months but maybe he is giving you 3months to see if your get pregnant if not then i assume he will run some further tests the lap and dye to ensure your tubes are blocked and if all ok there, he might provide a further 3months of a higher dosage of clomid..

xx

I have been prescribed 6 months of clomid, then I can have a break and then try another few months, but I think after 6 months of trying with clomid they wil discuss other options with you I'm ovulating on just 50mg of clomid, but haven't yet conceived (I'm due to start cycle 5 if AF shows up) but have an appointment on 21st July and I'm going to ask whats next, I think it will be IUI firstly, and then IVF, but I hope it doesn't get to that stage as I don't think I could stand the waiting time!

Good luck and lots of baby dust!
x
