fetus measuring 6 weeks at 8-9

Hi, I went in for my second scan tuesday and was told my baby is measuring 6 weeks with no heartbeat, when I am supposed to be 8-9 weeks. Do I have any hope at all in this situation? My dr told me I would likely miscarry. I haven't had any symptoms of miscarriage at all and still feel pregnant, even more so at times. My hcg is being monitored right now, for now all I know is it has gone from 12,000 to 10,000 but was told that it is normal to decrease around this time. I really need honest advice here, as the wait to find out what is going on is killing me.

Sorry Angeldawn, it sounds pretty much like it's game over. HCG should not decrease, by now it should be at least 30000 and a heartbeat should be easily seen. It might take your body quite a while to realise what's going on, which would explain why you haven't started to miscarry yet.

When was your first scan and what was seen then? Unless you are off with your dates, i can't see this having a good outcome.

My first scan there was the start of sac cause doctor said i was probably 2-4 weeks then. it was super early. I had a little bleeding this morning after intercourse but that stopped. i thought maybe it was the start of miscarrying but i guess i was wrong.

Actually your doctor sounds like a bit of an idiot, 2 weeks pregnant is the day you ovulate! So you would have more like 5 weeks pregnant at that first scan to actually see anything.

I'm sorry, but like the other ladies, but as it appears to have stopped growing and they can find no heartbeat I find it doubtful that your pregnancy will continue.

I just don't get why i feel like i am getting bigger around the middle each day, and i'm not even gaining weight, just feels like pressure, i can't keep my jeans buttoned when i'm sitting cause it's really uncomfortable. i have to pee every hour or two which has actually been like that for like two days now. i get really nauseous in the evening. even more so than before, so i just don't get how if my hcg is going down and down that i am feeling even more pregnant. i have been super moody for a few days too.
i will find out yesterday's levels tomorrow.

I actually never even seen the ultrasound screen when i went in that early, the tech was very rude and acted like i was completely stupid for coming in that early. my doctor is the one that wanted me to get it. my hubby watched the whole time and he said that there was nothing shown at all. So i could've been 3 or 4 weeks. I never had my hcg checked and i really wish i would've asked for it. if this pregnancy doesn't end up viable, next time i am seeing a specialist and i will definitely make sure to speak what i am thinking. i feel like if i lose this one it all my fault. i had a lot of stress from the beginning and i finally was able to relax some but it seems a bit late now. = (

Hi Honey - Just to say I had a v.similair experience this morning, measuring around 6 weeks when I expected 8+5 - not sure about heartbeat so have to be rescanned next tuesday. Heartbreaking isn't it? Good luck , wish you the very best xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
