Ok, so now Anna is getting the hang of bottle feeding I have a few questions- it has been a long time since I bottle fed a baby, my son is now 5!

So question 1-how do you know when to put more oz in the bottle??
At the moment she is taking 2oz(ish) every 3 hours, she is 4lb.

Now obviously the nurses will deal with her feeding increase until she comes home.
But after that, how do you know they need more?! And do you increase it by 1oz or what???

What really is the best position to feed? At the moment she lies with her feet to my tummy, head in my hand between my knees.

How many times, or after how much, should you wind??

Hi. When she drains her bottle & she' still sucking is a sign that she can go for more. As I had a CS & my baby was big, I couldnt hold him to feed. He alo suffers frm reflux. So I was advised to feed him on my bed & use a pillow to elevate his upper body. As for winding, at 1st try winding after every 1oz. I was doing so at 1st but when he started to scream when I pull his bottle to wind him, I gave up stopping & winded when he finishes his bottle. It also worked better for his reflux. xx

I remeber my son doing that, I was told I should be winding him halfway through and he use to scream and scream, refuse to burp until the end of the bottle!
At the moment I wind when she seems to slow down or stop sucking

Now my son pushes the bottle frm his mouth, sits up or rolls over on his tummy burp, then goes back to place to continue feeding. :happydance:

Evie wont tolerate being winded half way thru.. she did when she was smaller but now if we stop to wind her, she'll refuse the bottle after!
As for when to give more ounces.. when Evie drains 2 or more bottles a day for a couple of days, then I'll make up the next day's bottles with an extra ounce in
Positions for feeding, well that's down to you and baby really, whatever is comfortable for you both :)
