I am sooo proud of myself! I signed up for benefits for Ava and I (food stamps, medicaid, cash assistance) because I am going to school and have no way of making money on my own while I am stuggling with getting a sh*t load of homework done and running Ava back and forth to daycare (my mom pays for it thankfully so I can focus more on school).
Well in order for me to qualify I have to bring FOB to court for child support and I went ahead and met Child Support Enforcement yesterday and gave them all the info I had on FOB. Because he has been arrested several times they pulled his mug shot up right away - it was pretty funny.
They said we should be going to court in the next 6 months once they track him down and serve him with papers. I am SOOOO happy! I finally did what was right. For a while I held out because I felt bad but every week that passed and he PROMISED he would send money and didn't it made me not feel bad anymore. He is working and only pays 100 dollars a week in rent. So the rest of his money goes in his pocket for whatever he wants and Ava doesn't see any of it.
It's time he does something for his daughter and it's a shame it had to get to this point. I tried giving him one last chance before I filed against him yesterday and told him last week if he sent money over the weekend I wouldn't need the benefits or to bring him to court. He ignored my calls/text messages so I went ahead with it.
Wish I could see his face when he gets served with the papers. I know he doesn't believe I actually did it but he will see!
