Feels like the weeks are dragging by and I am only in my 12 week. I can't wait for my scan but the appointment will be made today and it will be done later in March.

However, I have a doctor's appointment in about 5 hours and perhaps I can hear the baby's heart rate!!! This should relieve some anxiety until I get my doppler in the mail :)

I mentioned this yesterday in another thread, but for some reason I have a sense of foreboding with this pregnancy. I can't seem to foresee the end where I have my baby....feel that something may go wrong. My hubby thinks I am still in shock as this was an unplanned pregnancy and I thought I was done with having babies years ago. He could be right.

I could be thinking this way too because of my age.

All in all, I am generally good with instincts but I hope this one proves wrong!

ooh.. I love hearing bubs HB... let us know how it goes.

I think we all have this sense of foreboding... maybe it's a self protection mechanism, just in case anything did go wrong.

12 weeks is that 'magic' point, where all your worries are supposed to just disappear... but I'm sure we'll be finding plenty more to worry about then.

I'm sure everything will go perfectly for you. :hugs: :)

Good luck with your appointment!! Keep in mind that it is very very difficult to find the heartbeat at this stage, so don't worry if the doctors have a hard time finding it. When I was 13 weeks along it took the person doing it about 15 minutes to locate the baby's heartbeat and when she did we heard it for about 3 second before the baby moved.

In my first pregnancies, they found the heartbeats this early, but each pregnancy is different :) I'll try not to get disappointed if my doctor can't find it. Try being the keyword. LOL

Good luck! I know I about died when she couldn't find the heartbeat, luckily she asked me if I'd like her to keep trying and she did.

awww i'm sure verything will be ok dont worrie, hope u get 2 hear the heart beat it will be magic

Thanks to all! Hearing the heartbeat is such a special moment :)

In the next three months there will be something happening each month. March is when my first scan is, April I will have my amnio and in May I am going to book a 4D scan :) And inbetween all that I will turn the ripe old age of 39 :(

BTW, here's a happy thought. I am finally under the 200 day mark. LOL

Mind you, it will be 14 days less than that too. For a planned C-section, they deliver at 38 weeks.

Why are you having an amnio ( if you don't mind me nosing ) ?

I am 38 and going on 39 within a few months. I was given the option and I truly think it's something that I should do to rule out Downs Syndrome. They say there is a higher chance of DS for each year after you are 35.

I would like to rule it out, just in case.

BTW, definitely not looking forward to it but one positive thing is they can confirm the gender :)

..... sure you don't wanna purchase my test... just send me your toenail clippings and £150quid... and I'll tell you... pink or blue

:rofl::rofl:

My nails need clipping soon :happydance:

This baby didn't want us to let us hear. Doctor tried but my heart was too overpowering. LOL

Also, he wanted me to have my scan on the 17th week, which would be the last week of March. Turns out the ultrasound clinic cannot get me in until April 15th. This will probably be around the time my amnio is done too.

Such a long, long wait :(

I am sorry you didn't hear the heartbeat! :hugs: Just think, next time it will be even more exciting! Good luck!
BTW... LOVE the toenail thing!

Well, awaiting my doppler to come in the mail so I can check it myself before my next appointment in 4 weeks. LOL I guess there was a reason for my impulse buying.

I told hubby after the appointment that I had bought one and he said I knew you would. ROFL

Too funny! i have a question..... You said you are getting ready to turn 39. Me and my DH have been trying since April 07 after a tubal reversal. I am 35 and will be 36 Monday. Would they do all those tests on me too? I am scared because it has bee so long since I have been pregnant and my body is completely different since I had my last one (15 years ago) I am feeling things and I just need a little reassurance from someone in a similar situation. I am sick and I feel bloated and a bit gassy (TMI) Is all that normal? I worried myself so much today at the doctor that my blood pressure went up. She dismissed it due to my guarded excitement. Please help! thank you!
P.S. Where did you get the doppler?

Hello:

Very happy for you, btw!

Your doctor will probably ask you if you want an amnio done. It was an option, but due to my age I truly think it's wise to get one done. You will more than likely have that option too.

I feel for you with regards to feeling sick. I truly never had it in any of my pregnancies but sure feel for those that do. They do say that those with morning sickness have a stronger pregnancy :)

As for bloating and gassiness, it's all par for the course, my dear. It's so normal!

I bought my doppler off of Ebay as I love Ebay. ROFL

Thank you! I never had any sickness either with any of my other 3! But they say that every pregnancy is different! I am quite a bit older too! I am glad to hear that the bloated feeling and gassy stuff is normal too! It has been so long! I worry myself sick! Sorry, but one more question, do you feel like if your pants are too tight they are going to hurt the baby? I just want to stay in my pj's or sweats! i am sorry to sound like a complete moron, I am just anxious and nervous too!
I will start looking on EBAY! I love ebay too!
Thank you for talking to me about his, it makes me feel a little better!

Ah, you are not a complete moron! BTW, do not worry about your pants being tight that they will hurt the baby. But, do wear what you feel is comfortable.

I am growing close to growing out of my normal clothes and am thinking it will be a matter of weeks.

Anxiety and anxiousness are all part of the first trimester. But I think I am feeling even more anxious due to my age.

If you have any concerns about aches, pains, etc. do make sure you contact your doctor.

I am sure that you will be fine and hope for you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!

YAH, Ebay all the way. ROFL I actually bought some maternity pants from there too as they were cute. They are used, but shoot, I don't plan on keeping them forever and I got 4 for not a bad price :)
