Finally pregnant after 13 cycles but pink spotting

Hello, all. I am 5 weeks along today.
Little background, I have 3 kids ages 13, 10, and 7. I got pregnant with super quick but this pregnancy took 13/14 cycles. We took an 8-9 month break because it was giving me bad anxiety. So all in all it has been almost 2 yrs, but just including the actual months of trying this was the 13th or 14th cycle. I did not test until I was 19 dpo ( confirmed with ovulation tests) because I was so nervous about testing and getting another negative test. For me personally, it is much easier to just start my period than to get negative tests. I finally tested because it was starting to drive me crazy not knowing and it was positive within 10 seconds. It still does not seem real at all since it took so long this time.
Last night before bed I had some pink spotting which scared me so much! I dont know how I can deal having a miscarriage after trying for so long. I am 35 yrs old so I fear it will just get harder and harder to get pregnant if I do miscarry.
I was planning on getting my beta's taken this morning, but it's Memorial Day here in the U.S. so everything is closed. Now, I guess it's just a waiting game.
Anyone else have spotting at 5 weeks and everything was okay? It cant be implantation since I am a week past my expected period

True, but either way I would still have to wait another 2 days for the retest to see if the numbers are doubling I would totally go to the ER if I was farther along to see on the ultrasound if all was okay, but it's too early for that

Not necessarily huni I had a lot of pelvic pain and had a history of miscarriage before I had my twins. I got a scan at 5 weeks 3 days it’s on here further on down and saw the sac, yolk sac and fetal pole, all as it should be. So maybe you could try and they could do a transvaginal?

I dont think I knew they could do an ultrasound so early and see anything? Maybe, I knew that at some point but it's been so long since my last pregnancy I must have forgotten. So, at what point is the earliest they can see anything? Is 5 weeks exactly too early?

I had spotting at 4 weeks (pink red) and then again at 9 weeks (light brown) both times thankfully all was well dear

I have been having pink/brown spotting nearly every day for a couple hours each day since the day I turned 5 weeks, I am now 8 weeks and 5 days. In that nearly 4 weeks I have had maybe 2 days where I haven't spotted. I have a history and pcos so I'm slightly higher risk, so I had a scan done at 6 weeks and 2 days and when I had that done everything was ok, we saw my little bean and a heartbeat.

My doc told me that spotting can be normal in some women and as long as it doesn't get really heavy and no clots everything should be ok. But I would still bring it up with the doctor tomorrow so that if they think it's a good idea they can send you in for testing and have you keep an eye on any possible future spotting. I also had some bleeding when I was pregnant with my first pregnancy at around 5 weeks, slightly heavier than spotting and bright red, but no clots and not even enough to cover a panty liner, and everything turned out ok then too. But I understand the panic, I freaked when I first started spotting but so far everything is doing ok Best of luck to you.

I had tons of spotting with my son, ranging from pink to red to dark brown - everything was fine. I spotted at 5, 6, 9, 10 and 29 weeks. Sometimes for as many as 8 days in a row. They think I had a sensitive cervix which led to spotting. I took it easy, tried not to over exert myself and had a healthy baby boy. But it was terrifying, hugs to you. I’m sure everything is ok xx

Awww hon bless you. I had spotting with this pregnancy at 12 weeks. Its started of pinky then was bright red mixed in with the normal cm and I was freeking out. I'm 39 and have had 3 Misscariges in the past so I was really convinced it was another MC. I went to to the early pregnancy unit and had a emergency scan and baby was fine and moving loads. They cudnt work out why I had the spotting but I had about to more episodes of it then when I hit 13 weeks it all stopped. I'm now almost 21 weeks with a baby boy.
I did read that u can have implantation bleeding up until 8 weeks. So it may be implantation hon or it may be just nothin .
Its quite common to spot in the first trimester.
If it's only light I wudnt worry to much. But if it gets heavier and u get cramps u shud get it checked out.
Not sure if u will see much on a scan as early as 5 weeks. Probably the gestational sack but u wudnt see baby that's early. Its normoly around 6 to 7 weeks u can see a fatal pole and a HB.

Thank you everyone. I haven’t had more spotting since then but every time I wipe I feel nervous! I had my blood drawn yesterday and still haven’t received results. Also, I’m going to call and get in tomorrow for another draw so I can have them 48 hrs apart to see if they are doubling. This is a new OB I’m seeing so they do things differently compared to my other. My other would call me same day with my numbers and I guess this one takes 2 days at least. I’m already starting to feel some nausea which could be a good sign but I’m also dreading being super sick which is sure to happen.
I had bleeding with my last pregnancy but at 7 weeks but that was a hematoma and I bled for many weeks and had to be on bed rest for a few weeks so I’m really hoping I don’t get a hematoma this time.

I'm sure your okay hun! I had spotting on my 2 previous pregnancies and I had a full on terrible bleed at 14 weeks due to irritated cervix, thankfully all babies are and is okay!

I am going to get my 2nd re-draw today. My 1st hcg from 2 days ago was 12,493. Doesnt that seem high for 5+1? I took ovulation tests so I pretty positive of when I ovulated. So now my mind is worrying about molar pregnancy since that can cause higher than normal hcg. But also multiples could be a possibility. I read the average hcg at 5+1 is 1726. Although some women had it as high as 40,000 in a healthy singleton pregnancy. I should just relax. I just get scared over even twins since I am at risk of pre-term labor as it is with just 1. I will update you all when I get the second one done. Hopefully I can get the results tomorrow, that way i dont have to wait until Monday

Good luck hon. I'm sure everything will be fine.
I have cholestasis at pregnancy and I'm at a higher risk of going into pre term labour but I am being monitored closely. My pregnancy is very very high risk but they look after you hon so please try not to worry. I know easily said then done.

My second draw is at 19,450 ish. I can’t remember exactly what the nurse said. At first that didn’t seem like a good enough increase but I researched it and supposedly once your hog reaches 6,000 the doubling time is only 72-96 hrs. Mine doubled at 75 hrs so that seems okay. But the nurse who gave me the results said there was a note for the head nurse to call and talk to me about my results and that she will call me later. Not sure what that is about.

She called and said the quant specialist reviewed my numbers and is a little concerned about how slow my number is rising. Also, because I had some spotting a few days ago. She said That they like to see huh increase by 80% in 48 hrs. I’m not sure what to think Everything I read online says with how high my numbers are, my rise was just fine. I know generally you should listen to the professionals over what you read online but hoping they are mistaken. I have an appointment on Tuesday. Not sure what they will do at the appointment. I will be 6+1 that day.

Oh also she said my hcg numbers are very high for how far along I am. Hmm

Your numbers sound good hun, I cant remember the range but it varies quite a lot! With my first baby at 6 weeks hcg levels were in the 1000s, with my second my levels were in the 100,000s! At the same week! They were thinking twins with my second but no, one healthy little boy!

This pregnancy had hcg done at 5 weeks at it was 9000, and baby boy also growing healthy in there
