Fingers crossed! Update!!

I had my 2nd sweep yesterday. I've been feeling a bit off all morning, with backache etc. Now for the past hour or two I've been getting regular (every 5 to 10 minutes) tightenings with what feel like bad menstrual cramps. Going to have a soak in the bath and see if things continue to develop or if they dwindle.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me ladies!

This has to be it! Been contracting now every 3 minutes for the past 3 hours at least. Got my TENS on and planning to head to the hospital soon I think as they're getting more intense now!

My baby boy finally arrived! Sebastian Thomas weighing 8 lb 11 oz!

I have to say it turned out to pretty much be the perfect labour. Contractions started at about every 5 minutes at 10.30 in the morning, but weren't too intense, so I waited it out at home until they were every 3 minutes and more intense, although still manageable. By the time we got to the hospital (10 minute drive) they were stronger still. I asked to get in the pool and the midwife said she'd like to check me first. I was 5cm dilated, but very stretchy and my waters hadn't get gone. On the next contraction as I get off the bed my waters gushed and were unfortunately full of a meconium, but baby seemed to be doing fine. As soon as waters went baby's head came straight down and was crowning and the midwives had to scramble to get ready to catch him! Had a minor tear, but nothing major! He didn't suffer any ill effects from all the meconium either. Really, it couldn't have gone better!
