We did a first dance and neither of us can dance at all! I stood on his feet (I wore no shoes, so not too traditional there either!) and we shuffled around.
It was rather embarrassing with EVERYONE looking on (although to be honest you're almost used to it after a full day of being the centre of attention!), and the DJ forgot to invite everyone else to the floor so it was basically the entire track (Flying Over Busstops by Athlete) of us shuffling in a circle
but it was SO worth it because he sung it into my ear, my arms were round his neck, and those moments will last a lifetime. Like minnie said, it's so nice to have 'your song'.
BUT one of my best friends had a totally different thing at their wedding. Friends of the groom's were quite avid salsa dancers, and turned salsa instructors for the first part of the evening. They got everyone to pair up and practice, and then for the first twenty seconds of 'Livin' La Vida Loca' the happy couple took the floor, then everyone joined in. It was SO them and so much fun, too
But yeah, most importantly remember it is YOUR day, don't let anyone tell you what to do!
