first fertility specialist appointment Thursday- thanks ladies xxxx

just wanted to let you all know that it went fantastically well!

I saw a wonderful female consultant who explained all the results of the tests I have had done over the past 6 months and conluded that they are all symptomatic of the depo injection simply not clearing from my system. I had pushed my GP on this and he said there was no way the depo can stay in the system for 2 and a bit years after lat injection but the wonderful consultant says oh yes it can, infact it took her 3 years to clear it!

So as I posted in my journal....I AM NORMAL! (well in the fertility sense anyhow).

I tell you what the consultant was a bloody testament to all that can be good with the NHS, she took time to explain fully all of the results and things that had been happening to me and even made sense of the chemical pregnancies for me (apparently even though clomid was making me ovulate, that does not neccesarily mean my body was 100% ready, it could have been my lining still not thick enough, again symptomatic of the depo clearance).
All the tests they said were abnormal previously (bloods/scans etc) have all been classified as symptomatic of depo as well.

I really hope you all experience such great people in your journey because I tell yu what a bit of honesty and clarity has lifted this dead weight I have been carrying for the past few years and now I can look forward with positivity.

For now they are not going to do anything else, they gave me an internal exam (massive thanks for the heads up on this I wore a skirt!) and have told us to see if the clomid has been successful in restarting my natural cycle (this is the first one without clomid) and to return if this does not happen.

I am so grateful for this news today, as you can all understand only too well the pain of fearing your worst fears is almost physical and bloody lonely, so to be told after over 2 years of trying that I am normal is the best blessing I could have ever asked for.

Thank you so much for all your kind words I truely hope that you all get your prayers answered soon xxxx

Thats fantastic news! Hope it doesn't take too much longer to clear completely

so glad your appt went well xx
My consultant said very similiar to about the pill, which i was on for 11 years. said it is still coming out my system and fobbed me off really for 3 months. He said if we had not concieved by next appt he would possibly prescribe mild fertility drugs? and do an internal examination, are your AF's light? mine are getting heavier, consultant said you need 3 days "proper" red flow for the lining to be thick enough, im just getting there a year down the line.

Glad everything went well for you. Hopefully now you have some answers you will get your BFP.

Thats brilliant sweetie - I am soooo glad it went well for you.:hugs::hugs:

Hi Loopy, I did not have any af at all until they started me on clomid, so I guess for me this has hopefully kick started my natural cycle. I just didn't ovulate at all or have any form of hormonal changes throughout the month. I understand what you mean about feeling a bit fobbed off I am really sorry they obviously have not been massively supportive of your situation.

I must admit the big questions they had over my fertility were whether it could be early menopause etc so to know that its not and that anatomically it is all looking good is enough for me just now. (also just a side note to perhaps explain why they have previously suggested the worst; I had anorexia in from childhood and never really had periods at all, I had been putting off these tests since I was 16 and the fact I never started my periods could well have just been masked by the depo injection, which is what they thought had happened, so to find out I have eggs etc is all I care about for now, it truely is a blessing I didn't expect)

Have they done CD21 bloods and in internal scan yet? this is what confirmed for them initially that i did not ovulate or have any uterine lining. I really hope it all works out for you but I understand how tough it is not knowing :hugs:

That's brilliant news lola - i am really pleased for you.

xx

So glad everything went well :hugs:
