Hi Ladies
well after an awful appt with another FS in January where the Dr told me I was too fat and old (I'm 39 size 16) to have babies + very selfish for wanting more and if I did get pregnant I'd die in pregnancy/labour and die and leave the kids I already have-WTF?!
We decided to bite the bullet and see another FS to review our options, I'm 40 in a couple of weeks, hubby had vasectomy reversal with good sperm count but not many swimmers (25%). New guy was lovely, he liked my charts and agreed I was ovulating, therefore my weight was irrelevant. He said OH had enough sperm to get pregnant but it would take longer, he said the biggest factor was the fact we've been trying for 2 years and it hasn't happened yet. He said my age and the sperm were factors too.
My FSH and LH were fine, but he felt the ultrasound scan showed signs of diminished ovarian reserve so he's taken bloods for AMH and I'll get the results any day now. He said each month our chance of getting pregnant was 2%
he's prescribed clomid for 3 cycles in the hope I release more eggs for sperm to aim for! He says this will take our chances to 3-4%. He said our best bet is ISCI which would give us 20% chance of having a baby. Hubby is against ICSI I feel like I'd like to go for it, we';ve agreed to talk abot it after my 40th birthday (13th Nov).
Interestingly he said to stop taking agnus catctus he said it was detrimental to fertility? He was adamant medical research proved this so not sure if I agree but we paid £200 for his opinion so will drop it, wouldn't be able to take it with the clomid anyway.
Lots to take in, need to think about a way forward, FX the clomid works for us
