I had a very early loss before or around week 4. I basically bled a few days after my period was due, yet I had gotten very faint positive tests a few days prior.
My OB Gyn said we can ttc right away because my uterus is so empty as if I had never been pregnant.

I have never even looked into ttc. I got pregnant right away the last time and with this miscarriage...I only vaguely know I am fertile 2 weeks after a period? How can I figure out my fertile days best after this miscarriage? I assume it won't be the same as before?

A little advice would be very helpful so I know where to start. I am prone to hormonal imbalances due to a pituitary tumor and would like to be pregnant before my hormones come crashing down on me...like they did postpartum with my son.

Sorry for your loss, I've had 2 myself and before I was ttc this last time we were so fertile that I had no clue that you couldn't get pregnant any time of the month haha! Any how if you were "textbook" you'd ovulate on cycle day 14, (the day af starts is considered your first cycle day)however most women aren't of course, there's several physical things most women experience but the easiest thing to do is to buy some opks that way you can start testing around cd 12 or so, they tell you when you're about to ovulate. Basically I'd do a lot of googling on different methods...DH and I basically had sex every other day after af and then the 3 days leading up to ovulation we had sex everyday... Hope that helps.

Get an app for your phone which charts your cycles. I find it very useful although it is only a guide but has always been spot on both times I conceived. As previous poster also said use ovulation tests too along with your app and you should be able to target ovulation. The general rule of thumb is you should have sperm inside ready and waiting before you ovulate. Sperm lives for 4-5 days inside and once your ovulated the egg only lives for up to 24 hours. So I tend to have sex every other day as soon as AF finishes and then around ovulation we increase it to every day for 2 or 3 days. If you'd rather be more relaxed about it then you could just try every other day or so throughout your cycle xxx

That sounds like a good plan thank you! I definitely will get some of these tests for early August because I am not sure I will even ovulate this shortly after a miscarriage?
So I think it is good to test.

Oh I would have never thought about having sperm inside and ready before I ovulate! Thanks for the tip!
I did get an app called Kindara. It seems to work pretty well.
So technically we can also wait 4-5 days before ovulation begins to have Sex? My husband read retaining semen for a few days might be a good idea also.

I think the best place to start is to find out how long your cycles are. The standard cycle is 28 days which would indicate ovulation on cycle day 14. However in reality most people have different cycle lengths. Mine are usually short at 24-25 days so I would ovulate earlier than cycle day 14 whilst other ladies have longer 30+ day cycles so would ovulate later.

The best advice I could give you is to have sex regularly throughout your cycle and increase frequency around ovulation. 4-5 days before ovulation will be fine as long as you know when you are ovulating. It may take you a couple of months to really understand your cycles but in the meantime just have fun regularly. Xx

Never say never! Ive actually known a couple ladies personally who have gotten pregnant before they even had another cycle! Dont ask me how its possible but there have been many cases of it...also i got my bfp with my 1st rainbow baby after only having 1 cycle :flower:

Also be careful with "retaining semen" as he may just be retaining dead semen, on the other hand ejaculating too often will not give the sperm chance to mature. It's a mine field really 😁 just relax and do the deed regularly xx

I am currently experiencing a miscarriage which has been quite upsetting but I'm looking forward to getting through this and starting again - it's the only thing that's keeping me positive 😔 xx

Oh I even do know my cycle length because I write down when i get my period every month. It is 29 days and I usually always start bleeding around 12 AM. :winkwink:

I read somewhere if you miscarry so early that not much has implanted it can be seen like a period and you can be fertile right away? We will see. I usually feel changes in my body before a test confirms pregnancy. This last time I felt the whole conception from the start it seemed :D

I'm sorry you are going through a miscarriage right now. It seems they are more common than I thought. I hope it is swift and painless. I had some cramping the first day but the rest felt like a light period.
