first midwife appointment tomorrow

had second early scan today and saw the heartbeat so that was a big relief

I got my booking in appointment tomorrow too! If it's the booking in appointment you've got it'll mainly be a form filling exercise where you'll tell her everything from your name to the colour pants you're wearing (I'm joking about the last part obviously!!). Then you'll be given a load of leaflets/booklets and stuff. Not sure if they'll take blood, I don't know how far along you are so can't say. I used to have a terrible needle phobia so I can empathise, but try not to worry. Everyone is fully trained and they know what they're doing. Just breeeeeathe.

thanks I'm nearly 8 weeks. Know I'll need to get blood taken at some point so I'll just need to man up and stop being a wimp lol

They shouldn't take blood until week 10, (then they do all the tests on it if you want too) It's usually a lot of form filling on your backgroud, the baby's dads background, booking you in for your should be 12 weeks scan? Lots of leaflets and advice, and maybe a wee sample nothing too bad.

i have mine tomorrow too! i will be 11+3 so im guessing shes going to be taking bloods :S i hate needles! it should be a ridiculously fun afternoon, she gets here at 3pm just about the time that DD wakes up from her nap! oh it will be a long afternoon!
