first month off bcp... did you experience anything weird??

This is my DH and I's first month TTC and also my fist month off the pull in nearly 7 years.
Have any of ya'll noticed some weird symptoms your first month off the pill????
So far, I have gained 8 pounds (eeek!) my nipples (not the areola, JUST the nipple) are extremely tender, my boobs are ITCHYYYYY and I've been having this weird dull/pulling/tight sensation where I would guess my left ovary is. These symtoms all started around the time my (extremely cheap) IC and saliva microscope say I ovulated... I think I might just be reading wayyyy too far into things but IM POSITIVE I feel these things! Maybe I;m just paying more attention to my body now, maybe its a reaction to comming off the pill, or maybe its SUPER early pregnacy sypmtoms... IDK... Obsess with me!!!

I could have written this post myself, except instead of left ovary, I would say right!

Having overcome a weight problem in the past, I keep a very close eye on my weight and I am gaining weight for absolutely no reason, and it is really frustrating. Also, what you said about the itchy bbs and the nipple, I have exactly the same!!!!!

I took my last pill on 14 June.

For me personally I did not get AF after coming off BC, and I broke out a little bit. I did gain 10 lbs but that was over a course of a year, but I can't seem to lose it whatever I do!

I gained weight coming off pill too which is funny considering I thought you typically gained with starting the pill! Also my cycle is all messed up. I had 31 day cycle and then 27 days. I also broke out too. I haven't noticed anything else though

My body was pretty wacky for the first couple months and by the 4th month I felt completely "normal". More normal than I had ever felt -- it's great!

GL And it doesn't hurt to take your time btw... not a bad idea to have all the hormones flushed out of your body so that it's the strongest it can be for a sticky bean.

Yes I had similar symptoms, I was very moody and down and my nipples were extremely tender...still not had af tho even after 7 months due to pcos

I didn't gain any weight off the pill, but I did break out like MAD for months afterwards until everything leveled off. I got my period about 33 days after stopping the pill and ever since then my cycle has been 30-33 days long. I had been taking them for 7 years as well and stopped taking them almost 3 years ago.

Oh, I'm glad you started this thread!

I stopped the pill June 9th. Had a good bleed from the 12-14th. I think I O'd on 6/21 and I'm 15dpo today (but who knows? maybe I didn't ovulate, I'm basing this on ewcm).

I am BFN, but I really thought this might be my month - I've had sore nipples and fatigue and cramps for over a week now. I have never had breast tenderness of any kind ever, and I never get cramps until AF is actually here, ever. And I also had the pain on one side - my left, though that is gone now. So I think there is a good chance my body is still figuring out what to do without BCP. I hope things settle down next month...anyone have experience with that?

Oh, and I am cranky. In the past, both before and with the pill, I've gotten a little down before AF, but I am crabby and moody like never before!

Hi happyintexas maybe you're pregs yoiu should test. I've heard that coming off the pill can encourage similiar symptoms to early preg (which is very annoying) but for me, I came off the pill in April after 12 years and it's been pretty uneventful.

My skin has been oiler and I get breakouts before AF and my pms is back in full effect but my AFs went back to normal straight away. I was on several pills Dinette, Marvelon and last Cilest.

Good luck and I hope my reply helps someone. When we were WTT I read so many horror stories but it's been fine for me, so it can be ok. All I need now is that so that I can say coming off the pill has been brilliant

I didn't have a whole lot of side effects when I came off the pill. My first cycle was 28 days. My second AF post-pill is due tomorrow and I don't have any symptoms yet....The only things that I really noticed were dull headaches daily and I was super tired. Don't really get the headaches anymore...although I still am tired. Hopefully I will get back to "normal" real quick and so will you!!

Gets. I am on my second cycle now off pill, but OMG I was convinced last month I was prefer, I had every preg symptom in the book, I was soooooo tired, hormonal, nauseous, headaches and ohhhh the stomach cramps I had!!!!!

Guess what BFn!!!

I hope this cycle is easier!!!

But I have read that first month off you get some kind of surge and are more fertile, so who know you could be!! I have 2 friends whO caught first month off pill!

According to most available information, getting off the pill should cause weight LOSS, not weight gain. A couple pounds, or so. And there could be plenty of PMS-like symptoms.

So far so good, as far as I'm concerned. I've been a bit touchy and jumpy, PMS-like, but overall pretty fine. Even my current cycle looks pretty good.

My last pill was on June 18.

This is my first month off of BCP and in the first week or so I experienced sore bbs and hot flashes. I was also extremely tired and couldn't wait to sleep. That has all gone away and now I feel back to normal.

I had every symptom under the sun after coming off BCP, was convinced I was pregnant. I had very tender sore nipples, cramps, nausea, mood swings, bad hot flashes, etc. They seemed to go away by the time my first natural AF came. But now it's a few days before my 2nd natural AF and I have the same symptoms...so either I'm PG or it's the effects of the BCP still in my system...or I'm just crazy But I did ovulate this month because I had textbook ovulation bleeding right in the middle of my cycle, so that's a good sign.

I had all kinds of pre-AF symptoms that apparently are normal for me, but I didn't know it because I was on bcp! So of course when we first started TTC and I had all these symptoms I thought we had done it! My cycles are still crazy, and I stopped bcp in October, so hoping that they regulate soon!

Hello, I am brand new to the forum. I am also in my first month off the pill and everyone thinks I am crazy, but I definitely have weird symptoms!!

1. headaches
2. weird fullness feeling in lower abdomen just above my pubic bone
3. increased sex drive
4. wetter than normal
5. one day of brown spotting two weeks after stopping the pill
6. random dizziness
7. sore nipples but bbs otherwise fine
8. bloated

That is all I can think of for now. My DH and I aren't exactly trying yet but we aren't preventing either and I found this website in my crazy pursuit to see if I am normal or if I could actually be preggo. It is way too soon to test! I highly doubt I would get a BFP because I am 33 and have been on the pill for 15 years! I am glad to see that some other people have weird symptoms and it's not just me!! My DH and I are going to officially start trying next month (if I get AF)!!! I am glad I found this forum and I can tell that I will be obsessed really soon (if I'm not already!!!)

My period went right bak to being normal coming off the pill BUT te mood swings were severe and so was my abdominal cramping. My Dr said everyone woman is different and you could experience any or none of regular pms symptoms. It also could take months to regulate yourself, or maybe only that first month is all you need! I'd say wait it out a few months to let your body get used to making hormones on it's own! GL!

so, it turns out they WERE early pregnancy symptoms I got my at 10 dpo I have to admit I'm a little shocked because I really thought it would take at least six months, but extremely thankful...
