first period after c section

Hi girls.. TMI warning!!


I just wondered if I could hear about other experiences.
I had a c section on 29th may. Bled for a few weeks and that was fine... but I got my first period 22 days ago and its not getting any lighter.
It started off with passing clots and a few days ago I passed a solid white gristly lump about the size of a pea. Sinve then ive had no more large clots but constant bright red bleeding. I often feel it gushing when I stand up if im wearing a pad.

Also I had trouble inserting a tampon yesterday and worried that maybe id forgotten that I already had one in (I know I know how ridiculous) so I felt around to see if I could find one and there wasnt one BUT I did feel a little hard bump like a pimple inside. It definitely wasnt there before and wondered if anyone esle had strange bumps or very long bleedings the first time?

My first AF wasn't until 10months after LO was born as I was BFing. It was heavier that before and lasted a bit longer.

Hopefully someone else can help you with this but if you are worried you should see your doctor.

If you've been bleeding for 22 days, you should be seeing your doctor ASAP. That's definitely not normal. Hopefully they can help you get it sorted out quickly, you must be exhausted! Be sure to have them check you for anemia too.

I bled for six weeks, had a week off, bled again for five days and my midwife said that was normal. Didn't realise the second bleed was my first post-partum period (whilst ebf) until I bled again exactly a month later.

I bled for around 5 weeks then stopped for a week so I assumed this was my first period although its now 3.5 weeks and still going. Passed a bit more of the white fleshy stuff this morning. I surely cant have retained anything can I? Surely one of the benefits of c section is that they can check that before stitching you back up?

I'm struggling to get a doctor appointment as only 2 of the GPs do gyno stuff and all their appointments are taken. I've requested a phone call from a GP this afternoon so hopefully they can book me in.
