Hiya everyone

I just had a laparoscopy (but not the dye part). They found and removed endo and a cyst, i thought that might mean my periods would now be lighter but my first period is really heavy (same as before the lap). Is it common to have a heavy period after a lap?

Hi, I just had my lap a few weeks ago, and I found my period was heavier after and also lasted longer than normal.
It wasn't unusually painful so I wasn't concerned, but if you are in a lot more pain than usual, it may be worth speaking to your doctor.

i had a lot more pain as he cut alot. he warned me that i would be in pain for the first few cycles. My period was also heavier (but for me thats a good sign as my endo caused problems with long dischargy brown menstrual periods) but it was all red and non clotty!!!!

Hi I had my lap 8 weeks ago and i really cant compare my period. But i just wanted to say Hello to endo girls. Its good to see us more on BnB. Hope you get your BFP soon.

I am having my lap done the middle of feb.... I havent had a chance to really talk too much with my dr about it but how long do you have to wait before you can start ttc again? also, how extensive is the pain following the surgery? sorry for the questions but this will be my first surgery ever and extremely scared and nervous.... thanks!

About 2 weeks hun, your body will be tender and it needs time to heal.

thats not too bad... thanks! also, did any of you find out you had endo but didnt have any symptoms prior to the lap diagnosis??

Hiya

I had endo with no pain. I had a short luteal phase, cystitis and heavy long periods. Didn't think these were symptoms of endo - but after my fs made a throw away comment about some women with endo having short luteal phases I looked endo up and found out these were symptoms. I was right too!! After persuading my fs to gie me a lap hey presto I have endo! You definitely can have endo with no symptoms and it is quite common apparently.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I'm not in pain with this period but it is heavy!

Thanks for the info! My situation is alittle different tho. Was diagnosed with PCOS when I was in my early 20's and now almost 29.... have had very irregular cycles majority of my life and they finally started to straighten out and become regular about 2 years ago. I haven't noticed any pain, unusually heavy periods or pain really with my periods until this one after first round of clomid. However, my FS noticed when he did my ultrasound at first visit that my left ovary appears to be stuck to the side of my uterus. No one had ever mentioned this to me before but found out the obgyn who referred me to the fs did notice when she did her ultrasound but didn't deem it necessary to tell me for some unknown reason. So basically, I have no pain, no real heavy cycles, nothing unusual going on except an ovary stuck to my uterus. Dr speculates Endo and recommended the Lap to confirm. Have been in doubt about this diagnosis because nothing seems to add up really.

Army_Angel - Depending on the amount of work will determine the recovery. I think the fibroid was worse pain than the endo (for me). I took about a week to get out of bed and functin but another week of aches and pains and BLOATING!!!! get yourself some tie pants - anything loose as you wont fit in your normal clothes (too tender).

We started DTD after 2 weeks but i had already ovulated but i was hoping to reconnect with hubby before the next round of treatments....glad we did. Your body will conceive when it is ready, dont think about it or worry..............

I had endo( yay! all of it removed now!) without pain or other symptoms. Had an endo cyst and deep endo removed from bladder and back of uterus! My periods are regular with 13day LP i ovulate like a clockwork with good hormone levels and hsg came back fine - both tubes and uterus. It is possible to have it without symptoms! Endo is a strange thing if you ask me....
P.s no idea what the cycle after a lap is like.... Sorry
