First round of IUI

So, got a call from my doctors office earlier this week. Our insurance company has approved a round of IUI for this cycle!

I went in on October 3rd for my CD3 bloodwork, Clomid CD 5-9 and on Sunday, which will be CD11 I will go in for my first scan to see how my eggs are maturing.

I think it's going to be too late though . I'm a 26 day cycle which means I will most likely ovulate either Saturday day 10, or Sunday day 11. The doctors office if closed for some holiday or something on Saturday as well as on Monday. I'm really hoping that for some strange reason, O holds itself off a couple days so we CAN do the IUI. I expressed my concerns but there is nothing that can be done with everyone off for a holiday.

Just curious as I may if needed talk my DH into IUI down the road and was wondering if you are doing IUI for MFI or?

Fingers crossed for you clomid can cause you to ovulate later. If they miss ithought I hope they give u another go free. Good Luck x

Good Luck with it all. I can't believe that with your dates being so close they didn't put this off for another cycle when they were actually there to give you the treatment. Fingers crossed for you, it worked for me second time!

No, DH SA is normal. I don't ovulate on my own which they think is caused by an untreated under active thyroid. I started meds for it last month and all my levels have now dropped back into the normal range at this point.

Thank you ladies, I hope so too! I'm not sure why they didn't hold off until next cycle either. I had actually hoped AF would have been just a few days later this cycle to get past CD3 & 10 being on a Saturday but no such luck, she showed up on time! lol

Hi Jenn,
I think you might be ok...I also have a clockwork 26 day cycle but on clomid it extended it to 29 and 27, and I've ovulated later than usual. The first month I ovulated on cd16! After that I've had a trigger shot so that forces ovulation, but I think if I had not had it, I would have again ovulated late. They say you won't ovulate any sooner than 5 days after taking the last pill...so for you that should be day 13 or 14 at the earliest. Clomid really does change your cycle, even when you usually have a fixed cycle length.

Ohhhh I'm really glad to hear that!!! I'm actually waiting for the trigger shot to be delivered to me (not leaving the house at all today so I don't miss it!) for when we need it. So, then I should probably ovulate sometime around Wednesday which would be perfect! Oh I'm so hoping!! lol Thank you Thank you!!!

Waiting for blood work to confirm but it looks like I'm close to ovulating. I have one egg at 22mm and one at 16 so there is a chance still but blood work will let me know if we are going to miss it or not. I have spent the past 2.5 hours on the phone calling every pharmacy in the state trying to find a trigger shot. None are available today but I can get one for tomorrow so I will do that at 10:00pm tomorrow evening then go in for the insemination Wednesday morning if the blood work all comes back okay.

Sounds awesome, looks like you'll get your IUI just at the right time!
Clomid does def. delay the O for me.

Got a call from my doctor, labs came back and I've already ovulated so it's too late for this cycle. Try again next month =( =(

So sorry to hear that. Did you all B'D too this month and maybe still caught the O date?
Guess that goes to show Clomid has diff effects on each of us.

Thanks, Me too!!!! I should clarify tho, my levels were elevated showing ovulation near or approaching, Wednesday would be too late for the insemination and they are closed tomorrow and I don't have the trigger shot anyway, but, Yes lots and lots of BD'ing the last couple nights and again today. More tomorrow just for good measure haha. I am hoping that it takes seeing as how I had more than one follicle that was at the point of ovulation (1 at 22 and 1 at 16) SO that should double my chances and hopefully something catches and sticks. We shall see.

I guess I'm officially in the 2ww. Ugh. lol
