Hi everyone, so I'm currently expecting my second baby at 22+5 and after weeks of pain was officially diagnosed with SPD. I'm currently a sahm with my 2 year old and in agony by the end of the day. I've got a physio appointment in two days and have been doing everything she mentioned on the phone, keeping my legs together to get out of bed and in and out of the car etc.
My oh is has been great with helping and taking over the daily housework, I just feel terrible that he has do almost all of it. I'm still doing daily tasks for out DD and looking after her obviously.
I guess my question is if you've experienced this during your pregnancy (s) and have any helpful tips?. I literally start hurting after 20 minutes or so just walking around the house and still have another 17 weeks to go!:dohh: the only thing that helps the pain is rest. Thanks:flower:

Honestly, there are a few exercises you can do but the doctors might be able to give you some geared more toward you. I have an exercise ball that I use and do hip rotations and such and that has helped me out some. I also know that going to a chiropractor can also help to get your hips and lower back adjusted but you have to make sure you go to one that knows how to do it during pregnancy.

Hi, thanks for replying. The physio is going to go over exercises with me on Monday which hopefully will help in the long run. I've heard they can fit you with a support belt which might be an option, I know they can be a it or a miss if they help or not from what I've read. I read that as well about the gym ball being helpful so it's nice to hear first hand that it helps somewhat. My only issue is I don't think I'd be able to open my legs to use it:nope:
Tmi here but I feel like I've been kicked in the groin repeatedly and it's been sliced with a knitting needle or knife along with the hip pain and back pain so can't open my legs much:shrug:

I totally get it. I suffered from it really badly in my first pregnancy and my doctor told me that it will only get worse with each pregnancy but that doing these exercises can help some. I honestly don't do them every day and I should but I do notice that when I don't do them I get very sore and my bones feel like they are grinding.

I hear you!! And it's awful.. I suffered slightly toward the end of my first pregnancy but only the last few weeks and mild. This time it started a week ago.

Def go and see your doctor and get referred to a physio, it didn't help much for me but the belt is good. I also have a young daughter so I know it's not easy to rest but do if you can! Read up on things that help, movements etc. But the number one piece of advice that I can give you is GO AND SEE AN OSTEOPATH!
Honestly she has changed my life... it's at least 75% better than it was and I'm back to see her in a few weeks. If you are anywhere near the south of UK I will give you her details, if not then find one that specialised in SPD.. preferably one that's been recommended but definately give it a chance. It's not cheap but worth every penny! Good luck x

That doesn't sound nice. I hope this time round isn't too much worse for you!

Thanks:flower: I'll definitely look into that, anything that will help I'll try. I'm in the West of the UK unfortunately, thank you though. I've got the physio tomorrow so hopefully she can help some, even with just mobility to get around outside. I honestly feel like a 90 year old women, cleaned my kitchen this morning and my whole pelvis seized up and I couldn't move:wacko: my partner has taken our daughter out for the afternoon so I'm putting my feet up with a film!
I hope this time round doesn't get too bad for you and your appointment comes around quickly!

I know what you mean! I feel ancient and it's so frustrating not being able to do anything. We are halfway through redecorating our new house and I'm so annoyed I can't do anything! It's so much better since the osteo but I don't want to push it.

Your best off not pushing it but I totally get it, that must be incredibly frustrating, I would hate that. Just think in a few months, baby will be here and (hopefully!) your house will be fully done:happydance:
