Hey,

I'm new to the site, and since I'm at 12.5 - 13 weeks I thought I might as well start off in the 2nd tri.

This is our first one... A honeymoon baby, lol. We're very newly wed but have been best friends for 6 years. We eloped, which surprised my parents, and the news of pregnancy at Christmas nearly gave them heart attacks. My husband is really excited. While I run off to look at baby clothes, he's looking at books and learning toys- trying to make our baby a genious. Dad is going insane, telling everyone he's going to be a grandpa and telling me I can't do anything but sit. Mom is a little less receptive. She's only 46 and feels a little young for the grandma word, I think. She's warmed up quite a bit since the news.

I've just gotten back from a 7 month stint in the Northern Ontario bush, where most of my friends were middle aged men and their dogs :headspin:. I've only got two girl friends, one lives 4 hours away and the other lives 9 hours away. My little sister (18.) is...supportive. She's not a fan of children, so she's just there for me in general. It's been pretty lonely these past couple of weeks, so I thought I'd come on here and see if I could make some friends...

I haven't had any complications, but it's been very frustrating so far. I was stuck in bed for a month with morning sickness. (They said it was so bad because I get really bad motion sickness too) Now, if I go out, it's to look for a job but that hasn't been very successful either. So, having read all of the books and watched all of the movies in the house, I'm surfing the forums.

Nice meeting everyone!

Hello :hi:

Welcome to Baby and Bump!

Congratulations on your wedding and your pregnancy - wishing you a very healthy and happy one! :hugs:x

Welcome and congrats.

My mums only 41 (42 wen bubs gets here) so also was not very happy with the thought of being Nanny Moulder. My Dad too he's only 43, baby's daddy made a joke about being a grandad to my dad and I don't think he was too impressed with that either!!

Here's to a happy health bump xx

Welcome to BnB! :happydance:

My mum's 46 too and not too excited about being "grandma" either. Lol.

:hi: Welcome to the forum and congratulations. Have you tried looking for a temp agency? I know you won't get any maternity benefits but at least you'll bring in some extra cash before the baby is born.

Welcome.. Congrats on your bump and your wedding, how exciting. If you are looking for work, temp agencies are a good place to start. I was against them at first, but that is how I landed the job I'm at now. Good luck and I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months. Keep us updated on how everything is going.

Welcome and Congrats! I can totally empathize with the being stuck in bed. I was for two months due to the MS. Awful, isn't it? Thank goodness it's done for the most part! I also feel ya about the employment situation. I've been searching too, but seems noone wants to hire a pregnant lady, even if it is illegal to discriminate. Very frustrating. Buck up though, we've got babies on the way!

my baby was almost a honey moon baby we got back from our honeymoon at the end of august and i concieved around the 23 of september. welcome to b and b xxx

A woman I know went through a temp agency during her last pregnancy and found it frustrating and worrying. I'll probably try it soon, after I'm sure it's the last choice......

congrats im going to be 14 weeks Sunday so im moving on up to 2nd Trimester too !

welcome to BNB!:happydance:
I wish you and your baby all the best! :hugs:
Haha, my mother is 33 and going to be a grandmother.. :dohh:
So she wasn't too psyched about all that either..
