Fitting Pumping In...

I am sure you all know I formula feed but I am coming in for my best friend, as I envy her for trying as hard as she is with BFing and want to encourage her but she does not have time to become a BnB'r.

For those of you who are pumping and getting a milk supply stored, how do you schedule it with feeding?

Hey hon! I give Aisling a bottle of breast milk for her last feed and I pump:

30ml from each boob first thing in the morning before feeding
30-60ml from the second boob offered before she gets it in the second feed of the day

Aisling is generally in bed by 8pm and not interested in feeding again til about 3am so I also express at 8.30pm and 10.30pm. If we were out for an evening then I guess I wouldn't bother and just do it when I got home but we haven't managed that luxury yet!

I used to get up before she woke and pump while my boobs were 'full'. That was early on though. I will find a link to another thread and post it for you - I gave a full explaination of my pumping and what worked well for me.....BRB

I pump after each feed a couple times a day. It takes a few feeds to get enough for one "bag" (I store 4oz in a bag) but it works well for us.

Its hard when Caine is crying or wants entertaining to have time to do it, but I try and do it morning and night and after feeding xxx
