:hi:

I am suppost to have yearly Asthma Check and Flu Jab on 19th November.

The Asthma check I am not worried about as I just have to blow into a Peak Flow which I have to do twice a day anyway at home and have my blood pressure taken. But does anyone know if I can still have my Flu Jab now I am pregnant.

I went into the Dr Surgery today to find out and the receptionist was less than helpful to say the least. Also found out my GP retired 3 months ago but I didnt like him much anyway came out crying during my last pregnancy 4 years ago and never seen him since. So now I dont even know who my GP is and the receptionist didnt know either.

I am just so worried about this pregnancy and am so emotional at the moment its unreal which isnt helping and probably making me worry more about stupid things.

Doctors actually recommend you get the flu jab as your immune system is lower when pregnant. When I went to see my doctor last month after first finding out I was pregnant, I asked him if it was alright to get the flu jab as I work in a school and there are loads of germs around. He said yes and that they are actually now supposed to offer them to pregnant women. He then gave me one.

lady3 is spot on hun. The flu jab is perfectly fine to have during pregnancy, and it is better for you if you do have it. If you catch flu while you are pg, you'll really suffer as you can't take anything to help the symptoms.

my doctor wouldnt give me my flu jab! and i have really bad asthma!

You need to go back to the doctor or go to another one if you can. Especially if you have asthma! What was the reason given to you?

Yep, I was told the same about flu jab. I have asthma too.
TBH Im not too worried about it, for the last few years Ive been so poorly after it, for weeks, Im not bothering anymore.

What about getting the flu shot when you are TTC? I was going to avoid teh flu shot this year since we are actively TTC now...

I have asthma which is why I have the flu shot, and I've been ttc for the past 3 years and every year I ask the question and have been told that it's perfectly okay for me to have it!

I think it depends which doctor you have.
