He used to pay £30 a week at his old job (working at the jaguar). He hasnt paid since june 2011. He text me on monday saying we'd need to change arrangements with maisie (he currently has her wednesday nights and saturday nights) because he had a new job. He said it was somewhere close to his old place, and that it was contracted which means its permanent and its higher money ( his words ).

He starts on monday. What do i do about maintenance now? How long should i give it before i tell him to set payments up? Should i ask to see a wageslip so i can make sure hes paying the right amount? (using the maintance calculator online) or should i just accept a reasonable offer from him? If he offers to pay £30 should i just accept that or expect more because hes told me hes going to be earning more?

personally, £30 is a good amount but that's coming from someone who doesn't get that much so i'm gonna say that :haha: will he be arranging amount through you or through csa? If he's earning me, it will calculate it so he pays more but if £30 is enough for you i'd stick to that xx

£30 is not a good amount at all..

I'd just contact CSA. I've just finalised our claim with them.

I cant say too much because stupidly this area is public and I don't want too much said but inbox me and I will explain all if you want to know.

CSA can go straight to his employer and they will give them the exact figure and it is quicker. You also pay for him to have her if he has her 52 days or more a year.
FOB has the twins exactly 52 days as he has them every other weekend Friday to Sunday! So I pay him an extra £12 a week  disgusting isn't it? That he gets more than I get a day for having them every other weekend.. Honestly its a joke but hey ho..

..

I think it is. My oh pays 144 a month and that will drop to 124 once our baby is born.

OP it depends, he could be paying you over the reccomended csa amount now or he may be paying under. I would work it out on the caluculator yourself and if you don't trust him, ask him for wage slips.

CSA will soon be charging 100 pound for people to use the csa so it's better to sort it out between yourselves.

I'd say straight away when organising when he has Maisie, right when are u going to start paying for her again? Can't believe hes not paid since last year

If he is working full time he should be paying more.

My ex pays 120 a month. He has 2 jobs but one isn't through the books so nothing can be proven. I told him he wasnt paying the guideline amount and he said he would make himself unemployed before he wouldgive any extra as he thinks 30 weok is more than enough. He buys food and nappies for the 2 days a week he sees our son and says he will buy him clothes etc if he needs them, tho i am yet to see these. I do think this is fair enough but dont like having to ask him for things and wait on him saying yes or no.

omg fuming!! he text me this morning 'i didnt get the job'

WHAT?!?! he text me last tuesday saying he had got a job and we need to change plans with Maisie, told me his starting date was today.

Now hes not even got it?! I said 'you told me youd already had your interview and got the job and today was your first day' he said 'it was supposed to be but when i got there they realised i didnt have the right qualifications'.

WTF?! idiot.

Makes you so glad your not a man. Imagine being that flakey every day. My ex is like this too, I'm actually glad we arent together now and I dont have to deal with this kind of crap on a daily basis.

My oh pays the same amount as what OP is getting and he works full time. It is a fair amount.

Even when I half mine I get more and I'd get more on top if I didn't have to give him back £12 a week for having the girls two nights.

Well they do it through the csa so obviously your ex earns a lot more than what my oh does.

It depends on what the man is earning and what is a fair amount. If OP is getting 30 quid a week for one child and his wage isn't very high then he is paying the right amount.

It's not all about the money anyway, seeing the child and paying towards clothes, food etc all adds up too.
