Help me settle an argument please

We have a bath mat down in our bathroom. When i have a bath/shower i get out and step onto the bath mat. Once used i hang it over the bath to dry out.
OH however insists on putting a towel over the bathmat for him to step onto and start drying off. It does my head in as to me that's what the bath mat is for!!!!

Lol that's what the bath mat is used for. Don't see the point putting a towel over it you might just as well put the towel on the floor.

Maybe because the bath mat is still wet from a previous shower?

I dry off a bit in the tub, then step out on the bath mat. But, I do agree that's it's intended purpose. Throwing a towel on the floor in unnecessary. Maybe you should make him do the towel wash!

I dry off completely before stepping out of the shower onto the bathmat but my husband just steps right out onto the mat. Drives me insane to come in the bathroom after he has showered to step on a wet mat.
