I want to try heating Rosie's bottles as I've heard it can help with wind - Infacol has made her farty and they don't always come out easily. I know microwaving isn't advised, but I reckon as long as the bottle is shaken afterwards to mix it, heat spots won't be a problem?

So for those who do, how long would you put 120mls (4oz) in for, in an 800 watt microwave?

I always do this.
I'd try a 4oz bottle for 30 seconds and see what its like, but it should be enough.

from the fridge i microwave leahs bottle for 40 secs, not sure on wattage of microwave though. if from room temp i do it for botu 20 secs!

I do about 40 secs for 5 ounces out of the fridge- not sure of the wattage. I shake the bottle well after, so there are no 'hotspots'! Never been a problem.

I always use the M.Wave.
Mine is a 1000watt and I put it on for 30 seconds (4oz) with a good 'swirl' half way through and one after.
Didn't know it helped with wind... haven't seen a miracle in Ella yet!!!

i heat ollie's in the microwave rarely but when i do from room temp id do 8oz for 25 secs n thats a 750 watt i give it a good shake and off we go the only reason i dont do it routinely is i usually make them up fresh xx

You need to test the timing with your microwave since they are all different and they all heat different bottles differently.

Heat the WATER first, after it's warm enough, then mix in the powder, put on the top and shake. Putting the powder in before microwaving supposedly kills all the nutrients (the microwave zaps them out supposedly). But if you do it this way, every bottle will be fresh and warm.

Obviously, don't microwave the bottle with the nipple attached...I know it's common sense but some people still do this not realizing that the nipple can get hot spots.

I'd say to try 20secs from room temp, 40 from chilled - but make sure you shake really well before testing it.

If you're not happy using the microwave you can put the bottle in a jug of water from the kettle. It only takes a few minutes with a 4oz bottle, it's when you get to 7oz or more that this method seems to take forever!

I forgot to say, we found Dylan took less wind and was a lot less sicky with warm bottles than room temp.
