for those in the UK, 35+ and history of MC

hello ladies

i had a MMC in december '10 and I am now pregnant again. I am totally convinced i MMC'ed again, as my (few) symptoms have totally vanished. i just been to the GP who did not sound very optimistic about it, but was nice enough and agreed to do a blood test and will see me again in a couple of days.

i probably should not post this as I do not know for sure what's happening, but i am doing what my instinct tells me...

if this is a MC/MMC, i know the NHS won't refer me to an specialist because it is 'only' my second loss. I am 40 and tbh, I cannot 'wait' much longer. I'm TTC #1.

is there anything you can do to be seen by an specialist earlier?
do you need a referral to see a private one or get some tests done privately?
if you are seeing a private OB - how did you find it?

Hun I really hope you are wrong and that all is ok for you

I know how you feel with the age thing - I have just had a mmc with my first pregnancy at the age of 36. We took a year to conceive so I have the fear of it taking a while again, plus I know I will be so scared of another mmc/mc if I do fall pregnant again. I have also heard that you are not investigated until after 3.

Sorry I can't help, I don't know how you could get referred earlier, but just want you to know I understand the age thing. But please don't assume the worst yet with this pregnancy, I am praying all is fine for you hun

i know i should not assume the worst, i guess it's a way of preparing myself just in case. i already told my DH that if i am wrong and my instinct is not correct, he can take the piss for as long as he wants!
