(posted in 2nd and 3rd tri too, sorry for the multi posts  I thought it might be better off in here after I had already posted elsewhere)

I was just wondering at what stage you were told you had one? And also if it moved on it's own before you reached term/went into labour?

After having bleeding and pains I was given a scan today and the Dr said that baby is perfect and measuring spot on  but I have a low lying placenta which is the only thing that he could see which could be the cause. I'm only 17 weeks so I know there's plenty of time for it to move but I was wondering roughly how often they do tend to move?

Thanks

I had complete previa at 12 weeks (covering my cervix), at 17 it had moved to partial (low-lying) and was 1.31 cm. At 20 weeks it was almost 2cm. I'm feeling very hopeful that it'll move more. If it reaches 2.5 cm the doc will be "happy". Good luck with yours. My doc says 90-95% move.

I had LLP at 20 weeks and it had moved out of the way by 27 weeks. Good luck for yours moving too xx :)

I was told i had a low lying placenta at 20/22wks (not 100% which had 2 scans then)
It was still low at 32wks but out of the way enough for baby 2 deliver naturally.

Hiya mine was 0.1cm away from os at 20 weeks and by 33 weeks it was 4.5cms away so was fine for natural birth. it was also anterior which is slower moving but moved fine.

mine was 1cm away @12weeks... but by 30 weeks it had moved enough for natural labour

Mine was partial at 19 weeks and had moved completely at 34. Most partials move by teh time of delivery. Not as good odds with complete, but they do still move a good portion of the time. Fx for you!

Thanks guys! I'm pretty sure it wasn't covering so quietly confident that it should hopefully move :)

Thanks again!! :flower:

Hi,
I was 20 weeks when they told me i have a low lying anterior placenta. They didnt say how low though & my midwife said there is a high chance it will move out the way. Im being rescanned at 32 weeks to see whats happening with it.

At 20 week scan but by 23 weeks it had moved and all was ok

i had complete previa at 20 weeks and it has now moved to 3cms away at 30 weeks..still low lying but out of the way at least
