For those who switched from BF to FF

how in the hell do you do it without it hurtingg!!!!!
I'm trying to quit now for the past week(i'm going back to work fulltime monday, I dont want to stress about pumping) but end up getting so engorged i put her on it. My boob was harder than a baseball! I'm scared ima get mastisis for the third time!
I have noticed my supply in my left breast is pretty much gone? it's my right one that is doing this.
Any tricks/advice??

You can either taper off very gradually. Some say that it even will 'hurt' if you do it that way. Others stop cold turkey and deal with the pain for a week or so..

I quit cold turkey (though we only bf for a week) i just hand expressed a small amount a couple of times a day, we are on day 4 of changing to formula and they aren't as sore/engorged now x

Today was alot better, my left breast just seems completely empty now. but my right now it slowly getting better. I didn't give in to nurse her today until about 4pm which was good. I am slowly cutting off, I started out just missing one feeding a day and went from there. It seemed pretty painless until the other day when it felt like a baseball(I didn't nurse at ALL that day because I had graduation for college that evening and practice all morning, etc). I still feels rather full though. I go back to work tomorrow 6-3, so hopefully it won't be hurting, I'll take some tyenol with me just in case ...

I am combi feeding so I can't speak from experience, but my mom told me if I decide to switch to bottle feeding entirely I should wrap my chest tightly with something like an Tensor bandage (I think you call them Ace bandages in the US?) to compress them so they cannot produce as much.

I don't know personally how well it would work, but worth researching maybe?

I am in the process of doing this, at the mo her night feeds and morning one are booby the others formula. I dropped the lunchtime boob feed the after a week the bed feed.... Am just doing gradually and im fine, no engorgment or leakage. I just always feed from the boob that wasn't used last lol!
