DD was born via forceps after been 'stuck' in the birth canal for 3 hours. Surface to say she had a cone head when she was born. Although it has gone down a lot I still feel I can see the shape a little.
Anybody else find this?

Robyn wasn't forceps, but she was breech and still has a rib mark on her head! You can't really see it now, but I can feel it.

Lily Mae was born via forceps and also they had to use suction first but it didn't work. https://i1338.photobucket.com/albums/o695/keyval123/7aa56ad259b57d5bc4143b10874655a2_zps16c08a81.jpg
This was her mark right after . She was very lucky .

This was her the next day

And it was gone the day after .

The forceps look awful you think there gonna really damage baby . I ended up with a third degree tear I didn't get away to lightly ha

My baby was also a failed suction cup then forecep delivery. he was a mess when born as you can see in the pic.

The second pic was taken at 7 days old. He still had a scar (and to this day has a scar) where the foreceps cut him open but by day 7 most of the bruising was gone and he was just left with jaundice due to his body dealing with all the excess blood from the severe bruising on the back of his head (caused by the suction cup)

My baby wasn't born via forceps but was stuck in the birth canal for 2 hours so lucky just missed getting the forceps, however he was born with a cone head that did go down a few hours later x

Even though it did become less noticeable still till this day I get comments that his heads a little coned.

Alex had this to, not so much cone head but that went away but had a big red forcep mark on his face. Kinda upset me looking at it.

My LO was forceps and had the forceps imprints/marks on his head and also lots of cuts and scabs from the scrapes they took of his head when he was inside. They all dissapeared and the dent and redness went away after about 6 weeks.

My first baby was born via forceps and was badly bruised and slightly wierd shaped head. He's 4 years old next month and has a very round head now so I should think eventually your baby will lose any coneness!

My baby was forceps and one side of her head came in a bit where the forceps had been.

That went when she was about 8 weeks old.

Ahh bless her she's gorgeous!

My son was stuck in birth canal trying to get out for 6 hours and had have ventouse in the end. He did yes have a cone head quite badly!! Went down very quickly though and has a perfect head shape now infact loads of ppl used to comment on his nice head shape!

My LO was born by emcs, however was stuck for a while. His head was like this for the first day and gone the next.

How long did you all push for? I had a vacuum delivery, and my doctor decided to use it when I had been pushing for a little under 2 hours. I always thought he should've given me more time, but I'm not sure how long they typically let you push for.

My hospitals policy is 2 hours. They inform the pead doc when it was an hour and half but made me keep going for 3 hours.
I thought her cone head had gone but i saw a lady i met in the hospital the other day and she commented on how it was still there.
That and people keep thinking she is a boy cause I refuse to dress her head to toe in pink is giving me a complexion about her haha.

I think I was pushing for about 2 hours. LO was back to back and stuck (the biggest part of her was in the smallest part if me). My Dr said he could let me push for longer but didn't think it would help and would only end up leading to a EMCS. Turning her was the worst pain I have every felt!! My Dr. did a great job though. Not a mark on her!

Yes, Josh was born by forceps after being stuck for about an hour? His heartrate was dropping though so it was more a case of his safety tbh. He was back-to-back as well though and was facing sideways when he was born.

The forceps badly damaged his eye and head, and he had bleeding all over the eyeball for the first 3 weeks but after that you couldn't see it anymore and his scars had healed. He had a funny shaped head for the first few days or so but now it's really round. He's 13mths old now

I think i was pushing for 2 hours hun before being taken down to theatre as baby just wasnt moving down the birth canal xx

My baby had a conehead. I had a homebirth and was pushing for 3 solid hours. My midwife was gonna give me another half hour and then consider transferring to a hospital but luckily I tore and he flew out! Yes, I do consider myself lucky that I tore...because I needed him OUT!

Evie and marks on her face and her head was a little mis shaken but rounded out eventually.

She did have a graze on the top of her head that took a little while to heal

Lucas had ventouse twice and then forceps as he was all kinds of awkward and got himself stuck lol. All the skin on the top of his head was broken and sore so everytime you touched him he'd cry aswell as it being misshapen :( It did take a little while to go back down but now he has a bit of a flat patch on the back of his head (as many babies do! lol)

One day his head will be a normal shape.....honestly! :haha:

Maddie was forceps and tbh we took her to a cranial osteopath on the recommendation of lots of friends because she was a little torpedo head :( In London there are some free (make a donation) clinics...

The osteopath felt it should be offered to all forceps babies as their heads do get bent out of shape and it can cause sucking problems and headaches (and not look so nice). TBH as an untrained eye I'm not sure I could tell you when a babies head is not round - but Maddie was a little stinker and the cranial osteopath definitely helped her sleep longer??!?! (As in instantly from the first appt) xx
