...make up each feed fresh like it says on the packets these days? I am only just starting May on formula as she has been bf so far....but I am making up 4 bottles at a time and putting them in the fridge......I mean could you imagine sterilising and making up a feed each time a newborn cries for food????? wtf???

i dont make them up one by one!! i make about 5/6 at a time store them in the fridge till feeding time warm up bottle then add the milk :D

Chloe has 4 a day now, which is handy as I can sterilise 4 at a time, so i make up a days worth every evening.

I'm with you, bugger doing them one at a time!!

Nope i dont either, i make my bottles in 2 lots a day and keep them in the fridge.

I know they say not to do it but it did me nor my 6 brothers or sisters (the youngest is only 18 months) any harm at all

I make feeds in advance, store them in my fridge and when she needs one I pop it in the bottle warmer.

Oh heck am i the only one?????
I make each feed up as i need it. It's a bit better now as the fomula Lexie is on only needs the water to be 15 mins cooled.
Please could someone explain how you are ready making them. Sorry if that sounds like i'm being thick!!
xx

i sterlise 5/6 bottles, boil the water, let water cool for 30 mins poor the water into the bottles and store in fridge untill tyler ready for a feed. Pop in the bottle warmer and then add the milk xx

You should just have clean bottles ready and sterilized water, and just make bottles as needed. Pretty easy and simple.

i make 4 in morning 4 in evening. then store them in the fridge.
i work in a nursery and when i go back to work bottles have to be pre made as the nursery is not allowed to mix the formula so it doesnt do the hundred f children we have a nursery any harm so im sure it wont do my LO any harm either

I make bottles in advance and put them in the fridge. Never done Hannah any harm

when Ally was younger and unpredictable, I'd premake them. Now he's very predictable and I make them up as I go. Apart from his first one of the day. I make that the night before. I don't find it a faff or anything. It's just part of our routine.

Ive always made them up as i go to be hinest had the water ready in the bottle like so i dont have a screaming baby waiting for it to cool down then just added the powder

I do them as required.

2 reasons: mostly breastfed just topped up if/ when needed so if I made a batch they could be sitting quite a while and secondly the germs do start growing so why take a chance.

I have the boiled water measured out in the sterilised bottles (I do a couple every morning then leave then sitting) then I just put in the scoops when he needs a bottle.

I thought the water wasn't supposed to be too cool as the formula isn't sterile and so the water needs to be hot to kill any bacteria. So if the water is cool and then the formula is added surely that isn't going to kill any bacteria? It all confuses me really!

Never heard that one before just heat the water up then add the formula x

i make mine up for the day too and just heat when needed

I always made them up as needed, never in advance. But I also didn't boil the water or anything, our water was safe for them to have as is or I would buy bottled

good god no. make up a batch. i've got a book by a specialist who says it's fine to make up 24 hours worth of bottles and refridgerate. the cold of your fridge inhibits bacteria. xx

I make the bottles fresh throughout the day but at night i store two in the fridge for the morning feeds

I steralise 5 bottles the night before and fill with boiled water from kettle which has been left for 30 mins. I store them in the fridge then heat up when needed and add the powder. Its so much easier. xx
