I must be being really slow but what is the difference between a thread with a blue closed envelope next to it and one with a yellow open envelope? I thought open envelopes would mean that I'd read it but it is appearing on lots that I haven't read.

P.S Is there any way of tracking whether anyone has replied to threads you haven't started but have commented in?

The blue envelope I think means there haven't been any recent posts and the yellow just means there have been recent posts to that thread.

As far as tracking threads, go to your user cp in that purple bar. Once there, go to edit options. Then you will see a messaging and notifications. Under those options it has where you will either automatically receive email. notification for replies to threads or not.

threads that you posted in, that has replies since you posted will look like the
"You have posted in this thread" icon, but with a yellow envelope
