I just wanted to ask anyone on here is they consider fostering any animals at all. A lot of people don't think much about fostering but it really is a vital and rewarding thing to do. Especially this time of year when it is cold outside, so many cats and dogs are homeless and in kennels and over the next few months when the rescues get bombarded with puppies that were unwanted Christmas presents.
We have been fostering for years now and we have fosters some really cute and amazing dogs. We have had a puppy sharpei, two puppy staffie crosses, a couple of ex-breeding puppy farm bitches and a few old grumpy grey dogs. All of these have gone on to loving homes and we still get updates about them.
If you have pets of your own or children and you are worried about fostering a cat or dog, you can request to only foster animals that suite your circumstances, we have a dog who doesn't like big playful dogs and a cat, so we only foster small dogs or older dogs who are cat friendly.

I just want to urge everyone to think about wether they have a spare corner of the sofa or bed on the floor where a wonderful little animal could call theirs until their forever home comes along. If you have any questions about fostering at all, please ask because this is something I am very passionate about and it would feel amazing to know that because of this post, one less cat or dog is out in a cold cattery or kennel this christmas !

If you want some info on places that desperately need fosters then please let me know.

I know so many that need fostering desperately before christmas !

We have lots of dogs in kennels waiting for foster and forever homes

Christmas is the worst time for rescues. We're even bringing in more dumped dogs today - on xmas eve !!!

I have fostered in the past and help with breed rescue where I can. However, none of our local rescues will allow me to foster (any animal) as I have entire dogs here that I do no intend to neuter. (I show Golden Retrievers and very occasionally breed a litter and we have a :coughs: 'foster' pup (ok, now permenant, he has too many ishoos!) here who won't be neutered until he is older)

It seems a shame to me, I can provide references and am a very experienced home. We could foster any dogs anyway until our pup's problems are resolved as although he's great with our dogs he needs more work on his behaviour with dogs he doesn't know but I am an experienced reptile keeper and have experiene with cats and small animals, plus have the luxury of not working, so could offer a foster home to many.

We are moving next year and I am hoping to find a rescue that I can foster for then.

ive considered it but im not sure if i have the time i would need to train and care for another animal. i have 3 cats, roommates hyper dog and a 5 month old baby.

i am still thinking though.

We've adopted 4 of our kitties through the local humane society and we actually keep in contact with their foster parents, lol! Not going to foster ourselves though, because no way we could give them up. (And, having 8 cats would be over the top.)

I've considered fostering but we just rescued one instead and we are now at our pet limit in our apartment. I don't think I could foster and give them up either. I fall in love way too easily with my pets.
