Hi I am booked into the doctors on Tuesday but all I think about is the lump and what it can be. This lump appeared about 3 weeks ago just under my right ear and it's pretty hard when you touch it. I do have some teeth problems but I just can't stop thinking it could be the big c!!!! I've looked at all the websites and I think that has made it worse. I have got a 4 and 5 year old dd and I'm petrified of leaving them without a mummy!!! I must touch my neck about 30 times Aday and pray that it has gone down but it hasn't. My dh says I'm being silly but I can't help but think it's something serious, has anyone else ever had a lump?

Hiya, first off i know how you feel about it being all you can think about. I have health anxiety!

It is most likely a lymph node. These flare up from time to time, usually on your neck/behind your ear.

These can be movable lumps or they stay still. I usually get them when iv been ill but iv also had them swell when i had a tooth extraction. Its just your bodies way of reacting to your teeth problems.

As always, its best to get it checked but 99% of the time a lump in the place you described is a swollen lymph node.

Please try not to worry! but i really do understand what its like so when i read this i had to reply! xx

I have one there to it's related to my wisdom teeth I've had it 8 years been to tge dictors loads with it. Mine moves and never germs bigger so no concerns I've had X-rays and clear bloods try not yo worry.

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully my mind will be put at rest on Tuesday when I've seen the doctor. I never use to be like this but since having my dd's all I can think about is if anything happens to me they will be left without a mummy

I've had a lump on my neck for years but the Drs don't seem too concerned. Hope you're ok. It could very well be benign hon.
