My sons birth was horrific. And the only thing I will always say and the only thing I can take away from it is that DS was an amazing baby and the absolute love of my life.

I'm getting induced at 38/39 weeks and my anxiety is horrific, I'm seeing a PTSD midwife and she's excellent and I can breath because of her.

I just want to know after the first traumatic birth, was your second birth better???

I'm sorry you had such a rough time with your last birth :(.
My 1st birth wasn't traumatic but I did tear quite badly (3c). I was induced (via pessary) and once labour started it was quick, I got to 7cm in about 2 hours but then had to go onto my back as there was meconium in my waters and LO needed monitoring. That was sore as he was back to back. I pushed for 2 hours, he was in an awkward position and quite big. Pushing was the worst bit for me and I hoped it would be quicker next time and that I wouldn't have to labour on my back, oh and I hoped it wouldn't take 50 stitches to hold my rectum together again!
My 2nd labour was spontaneous, when I went to hospital I got in the pool and it felt wonderful, much much better than being on my back! I pushed for only 14 minutes and I just had tiny 1st and 2nd degree tears and opted for no stitches; it healed a treat :).
My 3rd was induced but labour was straightforward, I was able to labour in the position I wanted and pushing was very quick (the whole labour was), 1st degree tear and again no stitches :).

Sorry you gad such a traumatic experience. The birth of my ds was ok, I actually laboured beautifully but then ended up with ventouse delivery. I ended up with a 3a tear and tearing on the inside leading to a 3 pint blood loss so had 3 blood transfusions. It was horrific for both of us especially me being in theatre for 3 hours. I had my post natal at 6 weeks and then again 3 months and everything had healed fine and I was given the all clear for a vaginal delivery next time.mi saw the consultant after our 12 wk scan for this pg and was given the all clear again, the chance of it happening again is 4% which is lower than the % when it's your first labour. From what I've read many women who tore badly with the first went onto have lovley deliveries with no tearing at all.

I will be making sure my MW talks me through the pushing stage this time and to keep me calm as o panicked with my son and shot him out, I'm also hoping for a water birth c

My 3rd degree tear led to a year of tests, two more ops, physio, etc. it was hell. For that reason I chose an elective c section with my second. I was up and about in no time after. However, I had my elective at a different hospital and the quality of care compared to my first was outstanding. For this reason I opted for a vbac with my third. I also agreed they were to do a good episiotomy if required. My bubs have massive heads. Lol.
It was IMHO a PERFECT birth. I had confidence in the staff and I was calmer and more knowledgable. Hopefully you will experience the same!
