So I just get a call from the place that did my 20wk ultrasound (different from my dr office) saying they just received a referral from my dr asking for a follow up scan! WHAT? I never heard from my dr after the scan so assumed everything was fine. The lady who scanned me even told me on the sly that his nuchal fold measurements were normal because she knew how worried I was about that because of my age.

When I asked what the rescan is for they said it was for growth (baby was measuring 5 days ahead which she told me was another great indicator of no downs) and to get anatomy that she was unable to see at the time. She never said anything about not getting everything!

I am freaking out that something is wrong and that I have spent the last 2 weeks thinking everything was fi e. I don't know why that makes a difference but it does.

Waiting on a call from my dr office to tell me what the report said, I hope.

Am I being silly for being upset about this?

Your not silly for worrying honey-things out if the blue like that do worry you, it's normal. :hugs:

All sounds well with your baby, so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

I had my doctor order a rescan too, because they couldnt get good pictures of babys heart. She said everything looks good though, so I'm trying not to worry too much. I understand :hugs:

I also got a call back for a rescan. The lady who did the ultrasound at least gave me a heads up and said it's very common due to all the things they scan that it's usually not likely to get it all in one visit. I wouldn't be worried!

Thanks ladies! Dr just called and said that they were unable to get the measurements for the pallette on the face. And that all measurements so far are normal. Phew! I just wanted to hear that it was something they were unable to get, not something odd they saw that they wanted another look at!

Now I can be excited about getting To see my little monkey again!

My doctor did the same thing. My 20wk scan took a long time because the baby was moving a lot, so the technician didn't get all of the needed measurements. However, they didn't tell me until my next appointment that they needed more. Overall the tech had said everything looked normal, so they didn't want me to freak out worrying that something might be wrong because they hadn't checked everything completely. The doctor and the tech were probably right. I do tend to stress, so they handled it well with me.

I'm freakin out a little myself lol. I have another rescan tomorrow because the last time they couldn't see a few things in her heart. Maybe the valves or something? He said he wanted to make sure everything was fine just incase it was something that could pose a threat when she is born or would require some type of procedure during the pregnancy. O.O I'm sure it's just a double check, but a part of me is like "what if half Her heart isn't there"!!!! LOL which is probably impossible considering that her heart is beating just fine. Us mommies will worries ourselves to our grave lol
Glad to hear everything is well with your wittle one. :)
