Frequent bed wetting--what to do?!

My DS1 is 5 and a half, and has been night potty-trained since he was 3. He used to have the occasional accident at night (like, once every 1 - 2 months) but never more than that.

Ever since August this year DS has suddenly started having nightly bed wettings. We've been trying to wake him up at 10pm to go to the toilet before we go to bed, but DS hates this and yesterday I carried him--literally kicking and crying--to the toilet where he point blank refused to go. A few times we've made him wear a pull up diaper/pants and on most of those nights he didn't wet the bed, but he fights us about wearing it and I usually have to bribe or threaten him to get him to keep it on.

We have 2 other children who are often up at night. One night I was literally up 14 times, and having to clean DS's sheets every night is such a frustration and I'm just so exhausted (I actually just literally fell asleep while I was typing this). DH gets out too to help but we're just so frustrated.

Any suggestions about what we could do? How to help DS to not wet the bed?

Limit drinks if you can. I think night wetting is a hormonal thing. Thomas still wears pull ups at night might be worth going back to those until he stops wetting. You could also try waking him at say 11 for a pee. I know some people have had success with that.

My boy went thru a phase like this at a similar age. I never really got to the bottom of why, it just stopped after a little while. I just reassured him and made sure he was relaxed at bed times. I have heard milk can increase bed wetting and not to give that of an evening but that sips of water is fine.

I know how exhausting it is. All my 3 have been (and are for the youngest) horrendous sleepers so extreme sleep deprivation is a given here. Could be down to something like he is just so exhausted so isn't waking when he needs to go. Upset over something at school that's worrying him.
