Yes, I'm working up a heavy swet.
Yes, I know it's not good for the baby....But;

I'm booked to have a blood test on Friday. I was meant to have it last Thursday when I met with the midwife, but I got myself in to such a state she booked me in for Friday.

I saw the needle and nothing scares me more than needles and blood. The thought of it makes me near faint.

Also, I don't have clear veins in my arm so she's sending me to some lab which is making me feel even more nervous and awful.

Can they freeze my arm...or just chop it off and take blood from the sliced muscle?

The thought of childbirth doesn't scare me, never has. But, this...does.

:hissy:

I don't particularily like needles either. What I did when I had to get my blood work done, was bring a magazine to read while all the other madness goes on. I also do that for pelvic exams. :rofl: Another thing I do is bring someone with me who I can talk to and keep me distracted. My boyfriend does a very good job, but I brough a friend of mine once and all she did was stare and the needle and start having a panic attack. And if you ever bring a baby, do not, I repeat DO NOT, let them sit on your lap. My son ripped the needle out of my arm. :rofl: Sorry if that's scaring you more. But like I said, do something or bring someone to keep you distracted and don't look and what the person doing the work is doing or the equipment they have or anything. It should help a little.

But I know I won't be able to distract myself...I can't in none-agonising-biggest fear-situations :(

Guess that's a no to freezing, right?

What if I buy some freezer stuff? :(

They may be able to use some topical numbing stuff. I'm not sure exactly tho. When I got my tongue pierced, they used numbing stuff. So I'm not sure. The doctor's office I go to doesn't like to be very accomadating, so they wouldn't do it. lol

Awe! Don't worry too much. It will work out, just think. You've got to do it for the baby, right? Just make sure you have a little in your tummy or have a snack or something to drink afterwards.

I am similar, except I'm not actually afraid of needles. I can look at them and know they're going into my body and be fine. But as soon as it touches skin I break out in a cold sweat, get super dizzy, my vision gets blurry, and I get VERY VERY close to fainting. I haven't yet, but the last time I had to lay down for 15 minutes it got so bad.

Just make sure they know you have issues so they know what to help you prepare for. That's all I can say.... Good luck!

:(

I can just imagine me running out the room.
And, knowing me I probably will.

Anyone know of any good freezing products?
