i wasnt gonna post about this but i think i need to talk about it

my oh got up this morning and on his way downstairs he checked to see if ffion was awake, she wasnt so he went downstairs.

about 10 min later i heard her playing in her cot, so i got up, got dressed, did my hair and went to get her.

when i walked in i had the fright of my life.

Ffion had unhooked her cot mobile from its stand and had been playing with it, she had got her hand cought in it and the string had twisted around her wrist cutting off the circulation to her hand.

She wasnt crying or anything or i would have ran straight in instead of getting dressed first.

so i called for my oh who is first aid trained and he gently untied the string, he said there was no need to go to hospital (i had my coat on ready to go) as it had only been round her wrist for max of 2/3mins. her hand stayed purple for about half an hour but she was using it fne, holding toys, eating her breakfast.

if she had woken in the middle of the night and played with her mobile whilst we were sleeping i would never have woken and she could have lost her hand or something1 needless to say the cot mobile went straight in the bin and i will NOT be putting anything else in or around her cot.:cry::cry:

Oh you must have been so worried. She's ok though.:hugs:

oh hunny that must have been terrifying. glad she's ok, you've probs come out of it worse than she has! xx

we've taken elliots mobile off his cot-he learnt how to grab it and pull himself up on it, we need to lower his cot though really.

Wow thats scary!

I've heard of children needing to be taken to hospital because they've gotten bits of their mothers hair so tightly coiled around a finger that parents cant remove it themselves - my friend who is a nurse said sometimes its so bad they have to use a local anesthetic cut into it!

Just so you know... even our HAIR is a danger to these clever little monkeys!!!

So glad shes okay hun ..dont be too hard on yourself about it ..you could not have known ..shes okay now and thats all that counts xxx

Glad she is ok, so scary!

A nursey near us got closed down, as they used to put kids belongings in a drawstring bag on the end of the cot at nap time. It was on the news.
The child played with the bag and got caught up in it, the poor parents had to turn of her life support afew days later.

Bloody hell hun! Scary stuff!

Hope she's okay now.:hugs:
