my baby is usually a poo machine!! I literally have never changed a nappy that hasn't been full of bright yellow gunge - in 2 whole months:wacko:...until yesterday evening.
She hasn't pooed at all since around 4pm yesterday, so around 24 hours. I know it is quite common for breastfed babies to go many days without pooing, but I'm a little worried because it happened so suddenly - 7 pooey nappies on friday, to none saturday/sunday.
She also has a cold so don't know if thats contributed somehow??
just wanted a bit of reassurance that this is ok? Thanks.x:flower:

totally normal hun; it can happen that quite suddenly they will switch from several times a day to missing several days. There are a few theories; one is that it is known that up until around 6 weeks the milk still contains some colostrum, which gradually dwindles down to nothing-colostrum is a laxative. Also as babies get older their bodies can process more and more of the fats and natural sugars found in breastmilk, so there is very little waste, so sometimes it may take a good few days for the waste to build up enough to make them poo xx

Thankyou so much for your reply, you have made me feel so much better!xx
