From what gestation should you report decreased movement?

Does anybody know? I've been feeling baby since 11wks on and off and several times daily for about the last 2 weeks. I've not felt her move since late yesterday afternoon and I'm not sure whether I should report it or not or whether the midwife would just brush it off as I'm still officially "early" to feel movements going by guidelines as they say 18-20wks. What would you do?
Just about to have lunch and a drink so I'll see if she perks up after that. Bit worried if she doesn't though :/

I'm honestly not too sure. Part of me thinks it's too early, but you've been feeling movements from very early on.
I'm sure I've read somewhere though that it all depends on how regularly you usually feel baby. I'd just give a phone call to your midwife or the department at the hospital, they won't mind you calling x

I really wouldnt worry only becausr i felt movemeny really early too..
And around 4 weeks ago she wasnt as often jus evert now n again...
But my 20 week scan showed her fine and this past week shes crazy lol...
Waking me up at 5am ...

If you're worried then please give the midwife a call, even if it's only for your own peace of mind. I've called twice in the past fortnight (once for headaches and once for what I thought was a uti) and both times have been told that they would prefer me to call rather than sitting at home and worrying :hugs:

They dont ask you to monitor movements until 28 weeks but if your concerned give them a call. I popped into epac at about 18 weeks with a similar issue as id had lots of issues with bleeding and felt no movement for 2 days, they used a doppler to put my mind at rest and reassured me that baby is still very small so its not unusual for movements to be sporadic. Good luck x

I was also told 28 weeks is when they would worry about decreased movements as before that baby is so small that he/she has plenty of space to turn and positions may stop you feeling the movements. Obviously if you are worried its worth phoning though, even if it just puts your mind at ease xx

I don't know for sure about the timeframe but omce my baby started moving more often he has been pretty regular.

I called into my hospital at 24 weeks and I asked to come in to hear the hb. They did and everything was fine. Drink some juice and lay down to try to feel baby, could be turned towards your back or being lazy. I noticed when that little I'd have really active days and some days scared me cause I felt nothing.

From my experience my Dr says u can't count kicks or consistent movement until 28 weeks. I'm 16 weeks and haven't even felt baby yet!

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but I've noticed in this pregnancy and my one with dd, that when they seemed to be going through a growth spurt they would get really quiet and my uterus would ache too, then in a day or too I always seemed bigger and she'd perk right up and be as active as ever .... could be the same for you. Also when I listen to HB on doppler I often hear so many swats and kicks and movements and don't feel them, even though I'm feeling regular movements, so my guess is we still can't feel them all even if we do seem to feel a lot!!!! I'm sure all is well , but my motto is when in doubt see your dr, if nothing more than to put your mind at ease!!! <3 :hugs:

Thanks everyone :) baby livened ul a bit after I'd eaten and had a fizzy drink. She's still been quieter than usual the past couple of days though but I'm hoping PinkPassion is right and maybe baby girl's just having a growth spurt!

Yes 28 weeks but they'll always offer to get the doppler out to reassure you :hugs: xx

I had a day last week where baby was quiet, rang triage and was told they wouldn't monitor until 26 weeks, however saw community MW the following morning and she was more than happy to listen to baby with Doppler. She said if I was ever concerned to always ring.

It seems 26-28wks is the usual then. If I don't feel her today though I probably will ring the MW in the morning. I'd rather go in and be checked needlessly rather than spend Christmas worrying! But I'll see what she's like today :)

Honestly, they keep us on our toes before they're even here don't they!!
