I've been drinking a hell of a lot of Innocent fruit juices, they're not from concentrate and the ingredients say that they're all fruit.
I thought this was a good way of getting fruity nutrients into my body quickly as well as eating fruit.
Now I'm starting to wonder if I've been wasting my time/money?
Are juices actually any good for you?

Fruit juices tend to be bad for your teeth (lots of sugars and acid if there is citrus).

Its always better to eat fruit as a whole so you get the fibre and bulk.

I think there fine! As long as you make sure they dont have extra sugar in them :) Just fruit sugar, which is a lot better for you then sugar... Your body burns it faster. Im not sure about the teeth thing... everything is bad for your teeth now adays

I love Innocent juices. They make me feel healthy so I'm sticking with them lol

Good for you i'd say....better than a lot of things you could have. My dentist told me to drink through a straw to save washing sugary drinks over your teeth - may help if its an issue for you - any drinks that is.

PS. Orange juice makes my baby more active! lol

Just be careful, it's a lot of calories potentially that your body may not be recognizing as calories so we tend not to reduce our caloric intake of food to balance out caloric intake of juice. Also, a lot of sugars may or may not be bad, some women have insulin troubles in pregnancy. Last, I find if I drink juices I am almost unquenchably thirsty. If I just drink water I feel nicely hydrated. fwiw, I drank a ton of juice in first tri, but don't drink much now. Mostly stick with purified water with minerals added back in using "concentrace" drops.

Whole fruit is better, but juice is still much better than junk drinks so when you feel you need a treat, that's certainly the way to go! :)

Excessive consumption of fruit juices are not beneficial. They are very sugary and regardless of them being natural sugars they still spike your insulin levels. Plus they are highly calorific, bad for your teeth and could cause diarrhoea.
One glass a day should be sufficient in providing nutrition and 1 of your 5 a day. The rest needs to be from whole fruit/veg.

Too much of anything isn't good. It has a lot of sugar and calories. If you love it, you should have some, but it shouldn't be the only thing you drink. You could also cut it with some water. It's not too bad as long as you have no issues with your blood sugar, but eating the fruit itself is better for you.

Fruit juices have the same amount of sugars (probably a bit more healthy but still sugars) as coke. Stored in our bodies, sugar turns into fat :(. Also, as oh_so_blessed said, some pregnant women develop insulin resistance in the second part of pregnancy, and than juices are a big no-no.
I vote for real fruits, too :)

Of course! Especially pure juices with natural sugar instead of added sugar. I drank tons of fresh squeezed oranges with lemons :p in the first trimester - early 2nd tri of my first pregnancy. Craved it! Tons of vitamins in there.

In moderation. Have a glass or 2 a day with water. I've been drinking the fruit/ veggie juice as I have been craving it as well as the fact that it has some of the extras I'm not getting enough of when I'm suffering from MS. It's good to still have fruit and veggies as well tho.

Anything in an excessive amount is not good..its not going to hurt you by drinking it in moderation. Also, i think as long as you have good brushing habits the sugar is not going to hurt your teeth. There are so many other things you need to avoid during pregnancy..dont deprive yourself of fruit juice too!

Oh that note I recently read not to brush your teeth within 30 minutes of eating/drinking anything other than water because the acid compromises the enamel and you can end up wearing it down too much by brushing. So, brush, yes, but not right after a meal... wait a bit.

Innocent smoothies and fruit juices are HEAT processed. Which means that they kill off all the goodness (vits and enzymes) that fruit holds and then tend to add in artificial vitamins after the fact.

They are substantially better than chocolate/sweets/cake/coke/carbonated drinks for that sugar hit, but the best way to do it is to make your own smoothies.

If you buy fresh fruit (which isn't any more expensive that the smoothies), use it whole as you would eat it (i.e. remove orange peel, banana skin etc) and blitz it up in a blender then you will be getting lots more natural nutrients and fibre for your money that buying it ready done.

You can really customise it too. Let it down with water to get the consistency you like. Use ice for a lovely cool drink in the heat. Add in a couple of spoons of live natural/vanilla yogurt for a creamy taste etc.

I find frozen fruit to be great for smoothies. Who wants to add ice and water down the smoothie, anyhow. I try to stick to organic berries because those are known for high pesticides in conventional, but I buy conventional frozen mango & pineapple. Yumm

I do. Sometimes they are so thick they are like baby food depending on the fruits you use (especially if you use avocado, banana etc). I like something I can drink rather than eat with a spoon!

How you like something is personal taste, there is no right or wrong.

I refuse to overthink things like this! Fruit is good! Fruit juice is good! Go drink if you want :)
