Frustrated and fed up!! Clomid query....

Has anyone else had their cycle shortened by taking clomid, really dont understand why my af is so early, luteal phase has only been 9 or 10 days so whats the point of putting me on clomid if I have a lpd which Ive always thought I had anyway! fgs!

Nope. Sorry. I had the opposite. I would take clomid, then not have a period, then think I was preg, only to later realize the clomid didn't work. Finally got the right dosage of clomid and the first month I o'd on it, I got preg.

For LPD I have heard a vitamin b supplement helps.

I am only on my first cycle of clomid so I am not sure what my body is going to do yet, but I should find out in the next couple of days. Didn't want to read and run.

I got pregnant with DS on my second round of clomid. I'm trying again, and this past month I only had a 9 day luteal phase. I definately ovulated, but maybe it has to build up in your system some, just a thought, its what I'm hanging on to! Good Luck!

Thanks guys, well thats what Im hoping, may give the clinic a ring and see what the nurse says, just didnt think your af was supposed to come early but maybe its because you can ov earlier on clomid, I dont know.... xx

Hi Torilou - maybe you Ov'd earlier than you think and your LP wasn't short at all??? Were you using OPK's or anything around Ov?

Working it out with my friend a fellow follower on here it looks like I might have a 12 day phase so maybe not so bad after all x

Good luck next cycle - im on cycle 2 of clomid myself - had great rip follies (2 OF THEM) 1st cycle but still didnt catch the egg - oh well hopefully we will get lucky soon!

I never called for a scan this cycle (wasnt sure if I was suppose to or not). So I dont know if I have any - but have had alot more pains and twinges this cycle compared to last cycle when I had none what so ever.

Im taking 50mgs. Its so frustrating when the FS tells you that there are 2 ripe follies waiting to be fertilised but it doesnt happen - it kinda crushes any hopes of ever getting pregnant - but i know I need to snap out of that frame of mind and just see what happens.

If all else fails it will be IVF for us - probably next April.

Hi and thanks for this! I have only had 1 clomid cycle so far on 50mg and didn't o. I will take 100mg next cycle (just waiting for af which is late). You have cheered me up, I have been thinking that clomid just won't work for me but maybe it's only a question of getting the dose right?

Ladies, I have been wondering if there's a cumulative effect with clomid - if it takes some time to build up in your system. Anyone know?

Well after talking to the nurse at the clinic yesterday about my probs this month she did say that next month should be a lot better as the first cycle your body really just isnt used to being stimulated and I have read lots that it does take a little time to get into your system, well thats what im hoping for anyway! x

I only needed 50 mg for DD and DS and this time around I'm up to 150 mg, of course I was in my early twenties the last two times and I'm 36 now even though the IVF clinic says my age has nothing to do with anything at this stage...lol...

Good luck ladies and its very common that 50mgs doesn't work or so I've been told and I was told I could be put up to 250 mg which I hope it doesn't come to that this is bad enough

Hi - yes i got a 6 month supply. Im on month 2 now but have totally missed the egg this cycle I think. Oh well.

Im trying to be positive.... but its hard!

I think 6 months is the norm - ive heard of a few people getting 9 months supply. I think long term use isnt good so they only give out 6 months. You can always take a break after a few months anyway just in case you over stimulate the ovaries.
