FS appt booked...Now what should I expect??!!

FX Palladium!

Brandy - I see your IVF is starting at the end of this week coming up. FX for you too!

Thank you.. Not the route we wanted to have to take but now that we are here we are super excited to be this far along :) It's a long journey and I am an impatient person hah

Hi Brandy - how are you doing?

Our cycles are going to be so similar... I started stimming today and have EC booked for 4th July if all goes to plan.

What meds are you due to be taking? I'm on 375 iu of menopur. The injections were fine but it was a faff to mix and I have been exhausted ever since... I hope this passes or it will be a long 12 days ha ha xx

Good I am on what feels like SUPER LONG Protocol haha.

I have been on Lupron for 7 days now (just got off the BCP finally yesterday) I am expecting my normal cycle to start the 24th if I am on schedule like I should be.

I have my ultrasound to check suppression on Friday the 28th and then begin stimming that same day. I will be doing 150 IU of Follistim/Puregon and 150 IU of Repronex/Menogon.

In a normal cycle I have 0 issues with ovulation or producing follies so I assume they have kept my dose down to avoid OHSS... that would be devastating.

Cant wait EC or ER is set for 7/10 if all goes well with a transfer of 7/13-7/15 depending on how the embies are doing.

Cant wait to hear how it goes :) Keep me updated plz! Hope we both get our lil tots soon :happydance:

I will Brandy don't worry! Day 2 of stims for me and it wasn't too bad, just too a while to prep but I don't have any issues with the injections themselves!

I have low AMH but pcos so am on a high dose I think but am being monitored and my dosage may come down one Thursday when I go for my scan. Hopefully it won't go up!

Fingers crossed for day 1 to show up as normal. Mine was a little bit funny as. Had been on northisterone which I think is a bit like a progesterone only bcp. AF was a day later than I was expecting but has been a lot lighter and didn't mess my dates up so that was something at least!

Yes, let's keep our fingers crossed this cycle is all that we need xxx

Ya that I am concerned about with all these meds I really hope my period sticks to it and shows up Monday.

So my appointment with the FS is on Thursday :wohoo:

I'm relieved, excited, nervous, scared, optimistic and pessimistic - all of the usual TTC emotions lol. Plus it is ovulation week so trying to BD as much as possible... trying to keep myself sane in the meantime

Hope all is well the the rest of you ladies!

vkj73, palladium and brandy - how are things going with you guys?

I had my IVF transfer yesterday :) I have am waiting to see if any took... will find out on 7/24 so I am in the 2ww :(

Good luck redbrick80!

Things are going slowly for me. I've been doing the cycle tracking (blood tests every few days, fun!) and that was not promising. It took ages for my estrogen to rise significantly, and then my LH went up really slowly, didn't get all that high (22.4) then slowly went down again, so no real surge. FF thinks I ovulated a few days after that because my temp did rise slightly and my progesterone levels were at least measurable, but they were really low (highest was 5.9). I had an ultrasound on the day FF thinks I ovulated (temp drop that day) and it showed a few follicles but they were still pretty small (around 7-8 mm I think). So the clinic thinks I didn't ovulate and I tend to agree. The said that even if your estrogen is high that doesn't distinguish between having a bunch of small follicles or 1 big one.

So it looks like I definitely have an ovulation issue. AF did arrive after my temp went back down, so either I didn't ovulate but released just enough progesterone to raise my temp and bring on AF when it dropped, or I ovulated but really badly so never really had a chance. I'm hoping this means that clomid may be all I need, but unfortunately my FS is away for 2 months, so I won't be able to get anything until I see her again in October. In the meantime all I can do is keep up the tracking and hope things improve on their own. I'm also going to get my HSG done next cycle and DH will get his SA done soon too.

Apparently my thyroid tests and vitamin D were fine, but I don't know the numbers as I was just talking to the receptionist.

We're going away for a week or so in August which will be around the time I'd be ovulating, so here's hoping it actually happens this month and a few days of relaxing will help.

Glad to hear everyone is good!

Brandy - FX for you!! That is very exciting :happydance:

I had my appointment today. It went really well! Here's how it went.. sorry that it is an essay.

Let me start off by saying that the Dr (I will call her Dr.C) is the most bizarre person ever!! She has zero manners, zero personality and actually really weird looking (imagine skinny lady with short hair meets Albert Einstein??) it was hard to concentrate on what she was saying!! But whateves, she seem like she knew her stuff and that is all that matters.

OH (I will call him K) and I got there around 9:45 (appt was scheduled for 10). I saw the nurse alone, she weighed me, took my blood pressure, heart rate and I gave a urine sample. Then we waited for at least 30 mins. Around 10:45 we met with Dr C. she read over the forms we filled out, which had medical history, how long we had been trying for etc. She asked a few questions as she read over it and then she brought out the list of tests.

Here is what I am in for...

Day 1 of my cycle (which should be July 28th) I have to phone the clinic and make an appointment for CD3.

On CD3 I go to the clinic for blood work and an ultrasound evaluation

Then everyday from CD9 to CD15 (or until I ovulate), I have to go in and have another ultrasound and blood work to see how my eggies are developing. (everyday!?! that is 6 days in a row! even if it falls on a weekend)

Then sometime between CD5 -CD11 I have to have squeeze in a HSG scan.

and the 7 days after I ovulate I will be scheduled for an Endometrial Biopsy/3D ultrasound , where they will take a sample from my uterus and determine if it is hormonally prepared to accept a fertilized egg.

K only has to have 2 SA tests. At different times of the month. He can do them at home and drop them off within 30 mins. oh, and we have to have an hour with a counselor to review our jobs and life and see if we are stressed out.

Once the tests are completed, we will meet with DR. C to discuss the results and the treatments best suited.

I am so so so pleased that it is moving along so quickly! I cannot believe that I have to fit all of that in next month, but very happy that they don't
wait around and drag their feet. All test and scans are done in the same building so not a ton of running around. So relived that we have direction!
And so far, so so pleased with the clinic

Has anyone had any of these tests?

Thanks for asking red brick.
We had our iui Tuesday. Sc was good, even with dh being sick (I.e. fever).
It's only been a few days...I feel zero symptoms.
I'm sure I'll be doing some serious ss next week.
Good luck to you and all!!!!:hugs:
