Funny 21 Week Anatomy/Gender Scan

Hi Ladies,

I had my 1st U/S yesterday at 21 weeks.

As soon as we got in and settled and the tech put the wand on my stomach he quickly took it off( realising what he was looking at the potty shot)and asked us if we wanted to know the gender. We had always planned on finding out so we said yes. He put the wand back on and bam the picture came up. I laughed because my baby is CLEARLY a boy, there is no mistaking it. My DH and I are very happy.

The tech went on getting measurements and pictures he needed and then about half way through the scan he was doing a profile pic of the spine and started chuckling then said "your going to have to take care of this little one while he is out". So I looked at the screen and realized that my baby had popped a little erection. You could literally see legs, erection and then the umbilical cord. It was amazing and funny (again no doubts our baby is all boy). The tech got a good chuckle for a while.

All in all my experience was great and my tech (who was a man) was really good and informative.

Here is a list of gender predictions that were true for me:

Craving salty and SPICY foods
Carrying low as well as all bump(no real weight gain anywhere else on my body)
No morning sickness (had few bouts of nausea but never puked)
No real increase of acne
I haven't been moodier at all during this pregnancy
Chinese gender chart was right for me
Areoles have darkened
My feet since being pregnant are constant icycles

That's awesome! That sounds a lot like our ultrasound with my son it was clear as day he was a boy LOL. I had all the boy symptoms with him too except the cold feet and the cravings. I wanted all sugar! But that's how I am every pregnancy. It was the same cravings with my daughter, as is with the 3rd as well my daughter gave me morning sickness galore. This one is almost as bad, but I have had more bowel issues. Congratulations on the pregnancy

Princess mommy-thank you! i see you are team yellow for your current pregnancy. Dis you find out gender with both your other pregnancies? I had so many people tell me that gender scans can come out wrong that I was going to take it with a grain of salt. Once I got to the scan and could tell the tech I had had a lot of experience (he was a doctor in India) and then saw the potty shot I didn't have any doubts.

Yes they very rarely read it wrong! And you will get more ultrasounds, so if any other tech sees a different sex I am sure you will be informed! But usually girls get mixed up for boys in the early stages because their bits aren't fully formed yet and still can look similar to a winky at 20 weeks that becomes perfectly clear! That's actually what happened to me in the womb (I mean this was 1990 tho!) They told my mom I was a boy. BAM! I'm a girl lol.

We found out with our other two and since I have one of each, the excitement will be in watching baby come out and finding the sex then im throroughly excited but still taking all of those gender quizes online and looking at the Chinese gender calendar. Most things say girl and so do my instincts.. However, my hubby has mostly boys and I keep telling myself it's a boy so I don't get too excited about another girl. Yesssss I am hoping for a girl even tho we are waiting on finding out. I just always pictured myself with 2 girls and a boy

Aww it's funny how we just have our instincts. Mine was that this one is a boy and I was right!
