Hi, Arthur has been great at eating until the last 2/3 days, he has always taken around 30 oz a day and from 5 ish weeks that has been 5 bottles, 6oz at a time.

The last few days though he hasn't taken no where near his usual amount, today in total he's taken 20 oz and it doesn't look like he's gonna wake for his 10/11 bottle either.

I know it's not to bad an amount but from what he been taking its definitely not normal for him.

I'm just wondering if anyone else had this happen around this time and had any advice really or at least when they picked up again. In himself he is fine, maybe a little sleepier but not overly that it would be a call for concern.
He did have his 8 week jabs Monday so I have wondered if it could be a late reaction to that? Have also read about a wonder week at 8 weeks so again a possibility?

TIA :)

This sounds very normal to me. There were definitely phases when my son slept more, and ate less than usual. Since your baby otherwise seems okay, then I would assume it's either that they're just going through a general resting phase, so to speak, or perhaps is experiencing a delayed reaction from the jab. I do recall my son sleeping more for awhile after that. Either way, it sounds like your baby is fine. I would just keep an eye out for any other signs. And if you are truly worried, it's no biggie to call the doctor's office to doublecheck. That's what they're there for. :)

Thanks, I think it's I find it more frustrating than worrying as I know he is taking enough just not normal for him iykwim? Some bottles can be a bit of a nightmare and I struggle to get him to take just 4 oz's where usually he'll just gulp 6oz straight down.

Hopefully he'll start to pick up again soon. Thanks again :)

Have you thought about moving up teat size? He is maybe struggling to get what he needs so is giving up and just needs a bigger teat?

We've just been through a phase of this, although my daughter is a little older than your boy. I didn't really know what caused it, I think it was a mixture of things. She did actually have a tooth poke through during this time aswell. She's just gone back to eating normally again now after 2 weeks. Stick with it. Aslong as he's happy, has wet and dirty nappies and seems otherwise bright, i'm sure he'll eat properly again when he needs to (I know how worrying it is though!).

Thanks. I have just gone up a test size, literally two days before he started being fussy so it's also crossed my mind that it could be that they're too fast? I'm not sure though as he did seem ready to go up.

Dani- I do remember my youngest daughter going through the same phase, when I looked at her red book she was pretty much the same age but the hv said it was reflux and prescribed her medicine, I am wondering now if it wasn't though and was just a phase? I really don't think he's is reflux so it seems coincidental? :)
