Hi girlies,

Well I had my first F.S appointment this morning which DH accompanied me to (I'll put the details in my journal).

Having had 2 S.A in the last 3 months, D.H was told by our G.P that his results were very poor and that we had little hope of conceiving on our own. G.P explained the results to hubby on the phone but never sent him a paper copy.

We thought this was standard procedure and hubby started taking all the vitamins under the sun and worried himself stupid for the next 2 and a half months that it was all his fault.

This morning we seen a very nice Professor who told us D.H's results were all fine. When we told him what the G.P had said, he went through each statistic and siad they were all totally normal!! He said that he had no idea why G.P had told us any different. :happydance:

F.S says he has had close to 10,000 papers published (possible exaggeration on his part lol) on S.A results and that G.P's generally haven't got a clue what they're talking about when it comes to fertility tests!!

Needless to say D.H is over the moon and I'm never going back to that G.P!!
Just wanted to give any of u waiting to see a specialist with possible male factor problems a bit of hope xxx

Blimey hun thats so bad that the GP got it all wrong!!!
Congrats to u and hubby, you must both feel so relieved!!!xxx

We had exactly the same thing these gp's wind me up :hugs:

That's shocking!! If they don't know what they're talking about they should just keep quiet - D.H has been so distressed.

And it is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge relief, big weight off our shoulders :hugs:

Same here i know exactly how u feel DH was so upset he didnt talk to me for a whole night.

Thats disgusting all that heartache for a healthy result. Get writing a strong letter he needs a wake up call!

Glad all went well for you today, and your DH got some good news. I believe that the Professor you're talking about lectures on fertility issues on a very regular basis, and does publish white papers, so he probably is the doggies doodahs when it comes to SA.

I'm soooo pleased you got on well today. What happens next for you? In fact, I'll read your journal when I get a spare few minutes and that'll probably answer my question.

x
