Yup. Theons story line has gone off course from the books. I've been reading what you guys have been saying and I'm desperate to say something about what happens in the books, but I shall be a good girl! Lol!
All I will say without giving anything away is Theon disappears at the end of book two, I think it is after Winterfell scenario and doesn't appear again until about book 5 with this similar storyline on the show.
I am disappointed at the moment though, as I expected that to happen in the show too and I don't really understand where they're going with it? I did think I knew for a second what was going on, then it went off course again at the end.

Just wanted to update with this as I only twigged today...Theon disappears in Book 3, but returns in Book 4. However, chronologically Books 3 & 4 run together so I'm guessing Season 3 has incorporated book 3 & 4 but will be splitting it over 2 seasons. Hence the bit of confusion over Theon's storyline (I was a bit confused at first).
