Hi

DD had £20 Gap voucher for her bday. It's not somewhere I'd usually shop but I bought a pair of leggings and long sleeved top, 2 for £12.95 and 5 pairs of socks for £7.95. I thought the prices were a bit steep and I certainly wouldn't have bought them if I hadn't had the vouchers. Anyway the socks have been fine but the leggings had 2 holes in after 1 wear and the top has gone baggy round the neck! I exchanged the leggings but won't be buying from there again! :growlmad:

The same week I bought 2 tops in Primark, 2 for £3 and they've worn and washed perfectly!

xx

I bought two zippy hoodys for my daughters and after they had been washed a few times they looked about a year old. although the socks did last.

I have tried clothes from nearly every shop i can think off with my eldest daughter and learnt to stick with NEXT for everything.

I do love marks and spencers coats though.

I have some gap things, some is ok and worn ok but other than that its def nothing special and some of the baby stuff was usless.

I agree with the above, next stuff is much better quality and washes a dream, again have a few marks and spencers stuff most of which washes well, although some items seem to lose shape.

Ive had stuff given to me from loads of shops, matalan stuff seems to be ok for the baby stage (even with loads of washing) but generally i notice the lower prices stuff doesnt wash so well or keep its shape so well.

I have a few ASDA George t shirts as my son loves character tops and they seem ok and def well worth it for the money.

But next always wins hands down in my opioion, its not as pricey as some of the stuff ive got, but its def the best when it comes to keeping its shape, colour and without bubbling.

Saying that, I spend over £100 in next on baby things and got next to nothing in actual items (although they are adorable and will last) and my nana insisted i go with her to matalan and get stuff and for £70 i have so much, inc blankets and several sizes.

But GAP i do pop in if i see a kiddies GAP or at the designer outlets but i def wouldnt buy huge amounts from there, socks are brill there though.

I bought a pair of leggings for Violet off a member here and they're absolutely brilliant, still in excellent condition and they fit like a glove. I think that's terrible though and it would put me off buying anything from there again :growlmad:

I have bought things for Olivia from Gap and they have always washed up lovely, especially the jeans and stretchy t shirts.

It does put you off buying from places when the quality isnt great, especially when you pay that little bit extra too!

i have had a few bits from gap and found their sizes quite small and a few things really bad quality for the prices
one that sticks in my mind was a hooded jumper with little ears on it it went really bobbled after one wash and one of the ears fell off :(

amelie has lots of gap things and theyve always washed well and been good quality  one of my fav shops!

never had any problems with Gap stuff! primark on the other hand.. :laugh2:

I can't speak to the baby stuff, but I wear a lot of Gap and I think the adult line is quality stuff.

I like my primark for socks and knickers for my 2 because my kids seem to lose socks daily! Gap depends for me on quality, a bit hit or miss. x

Ive only bought a couple of things at GAP and always and only in the Sale I wouldnt buy full priced items, the stuff I bought has been excellent, maybe you were just unlucky.
I do agree that some cheaper supermarket branded stuff/primark stuff is of really good quality/durability.
I often find that if I buy something for myself in a premium shop, like french connection they will fall apart or the colour will fade or wash out after a couple of wears.
You have to watch some of the premium high street stores as they sell clothing that cannot always be washed (just dry clean only) or on a wool wash so they end up falling apart or shrinking. Monsoon baby are good at this, lovely stuff, but totally impractical for babies to wear on a daily basis :)

Wow this surprises me as we buy a lot of Oli's clothes from Gap and have never had any problems at all

Maybe I just had a dodgy batch!!
xx

My kids have had lots of stuff from gap and it can be hit and miss I've found. The jeans and nice lined dresses last well. I love their socks and pjs too. But leggings and t-shirts have lots their colour. Their shoes are a bit mad tho. They had little girls ballet type shoes last week with a pointed toe!!

I've bought my daughter gap sweatshirts and hoody type jackets and they wash and wear so well, I never buy them full price though as they are quite expensive but I always have a look if we visit the outlet.

I have always worn their tshirts and El's has had bits out of there with no issues however that's not to say that some won't. given their prices I'd expect the leggings to not go how they did and wouldn't be happy.

hey ladies.. i work for gap..lol and you can always return goods you think arnt good quality or faulty :) and id always say go up a size on the toddler side of things as they do come up quite small... x

totally agree with the sizing, I bought a dress which was meant for an 18 month old, LO started wearing it at 9 months, it wasnt too big for her, just right in fact.
Now LO is 14 months it doesnt even fit her, too short, and arms to tight  but has washed up well :)
