Anyone here got a gas oven that they can recommend for me?

We are having our kitchen done in the new year and been looking at ovens. I have always cooked on gas and have no interest in going electric. Basically the only gas ovens i've been able to find are Stoves, New World and Belling.

Has anyone here got either of these? If so can you give me the pros and cons please?

We had a Cannon one and found it great, New World was a brand we were going to buy, but didnt get to use it

I've got a Belling oven and hob - the hob is gas and the oven is electric - which I had fitted a few months ago and I absolutely love it!

I've used both gas and electric ovens and I much prefer the electric because it cooks quicker and I find things like chips etc are more soggy and not as crisp in a gas oven.

dont get a beco MK11!!!

i cant even fit my normal 12 hole cupcake tin in it OR the pizza tray!! its just not wide or long enough! :,(

bloody landlady!

I have no idea re: gas ovens. I love my electric oven now...can I ask why you are so determined to have a gas oven?

They are more expensive and create more damage to environment that when given the option, you are not prepared to change?

Just to say, we got an induction hob two years ago after cooking on gas all my life - the difference is amazing!

We had an electric oven when we first got married and i couldn't cook in it at all - i'd always cooked on gas up until then and after we moved and i never experienced any bad cooking.

I wouldn't necessarily say they are more expensive - if we were going for an electric we would more than likely get a range which would be significantly more than the gas ones we are looking at. I like the way gas ovens cook and the way that you have instant heat/cooling when you turn them up or down.

That's why I will always have a gas hob - when I lived in my flat I didn't have a gas supply and I hated cooking on an electric hob! But to be honest I tend to cook most things in the oven at the same temperature so don't need to worry about turning it up and down. I've also gone for a double oven this time so can do 2 things at different temperatures at the same time.

I know you said you have no interest but electric ovens are way better. I'd get gas hob and fan oven.

Noooo - not a fan oven lol. I like to have it hotter at the top and cooler at the bottom :)

We have a Stratford Cannon gas cooker, I think it's brilliant. Works fine, fits everything inside, easy to use.

We did have an electric cooker when we got our first place, I hated it! Definitely think gas cookers are better
