I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 31 weeks and at first my blood sugars were easily controlled. Then it seems they've gotten harder and harder to control pretty rapidly.
Diet alone wouldn't control my blood sugar levels, so I was put on glyburide. And now I'm at 35 weeks and still on glyburide and my blood still isn't controlled. Even after nearly a week of 110-190 blood sugars while on medicine my doctor still hasn't prescribed insulin.
I had an ultrasound at 33 weeks and baby was measuring great. But I won't have another growth check until I'm nearly 38 weeks.
I'm so worried because my sugars have been bad, and Im afraid by the time I get to the next growth check the baby will be too big to deliver vaginally.
So if only a few weeks ago (33 weeks along) and the baby was measuring good, would it be possible for the baby to gain weight so rapidly that he'd be too big to deliver vaginally at 38 weeks?
