I just had some tuna salad and I"m still hungry.....grrrrrrrrrrr

Try scrambled egg... I lived on it when I had GD

I feel your pain!! Hunger pains that is :haha: It is hard. I eat a lot of eggs. Keep some hard boiled so you can grab one when you are hungry or even for a snack. I also eat grilled chicken strips. Basically if it doesn't have carbs I eat as much as I want. Rather gain a few extra pounds then make bad food choices and have I blood sugars. Maybe I should start a thread for food/recipe ideas for us? What do you think?

Also try sugar free jelly, you can make a huge amount on it. Also low sugar custard. Chicken slices etc...

Veggies is always a good thing to snack on, just try to avoid carrots and corn.

Celery, cherry tomatoes, cucumber... I used to have reduced sugar Peanut Butter on Celery sticks. The protein will help you to feel fuller, longer. :hugs:

I grab about 8-10 frozen grapes and eat them when I am still hungry or craving something sweet. I know it has natural sugar but figured it is alot better than grabbing some chocolate!! Frozen fruit is my new best friend!

a lil off topic...I know we have to watch sugar and carbs...but what KIND of carbs are we watching? All of them, the bad carbs, etc...I bought some hearty whole wheat bread to make sammies on and it has 15 carbs a slice BUT 6 grams of dietary fiber....so that would technically make it 9 carbs per slice, right?

You got it!

You want to watch the processed/refined carbs, like white breads. Because your body doesn't process fiber, you can always subtract the fiber content and that'll give you your actual carb content. Whole grains/whole wheat and not refined/processed is your best bet.

Although everyone should eat like that, not just diabetics. :hugs:

Omg I would have no idea what to do, I had a test done last week for gd and I get my results on Tuesday I hope, I am really hoping it was cause I ate too much sugar, thta it showed in a urine test. Recies will deff make things so much easier for me cause like I said, if I have got this I will have no idea what to eat and what to avoid lol.......
